[i习作temp] Issue51 【victors小组】第六次作业 by solartorch [复制链接]

51"Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

1, Education 是要激发个人的potential. 所以统一一致的教育没有做到鼓励的作用。
2,针对每一个学生都采取不同的教育模式也是不现实的,首先没有这么多人力,其次,作为youth理念都没成型,interest也许只是短暂的好奇没有last long.
3, 适当的统一教育,比如morality, common sense, 文学历史常识 对一个健全的人格来说是必要的。狭隘的interest会限制一个人的发展。

字数:623 写得挺空洞,没啥例子,不过觉得比scandal好写点。。。
The best way of education is a lasting and nicety topic whether in history or nowadays. Based on this circumstance, the above statement calls for a completely specifically designed educational mode for each student. In my opinion, although proper amount of specific education is demanded in order to arouse the potential power preserved by individual student, too much focus on the distinct design neither deserves advocacy nor is applicable. In the contrary, a design considering the overall aspects is required for a healthy character.

Controversies over education never stopped through the whole human history till now. Yet a common base has been more or less established from these drastic discussions---a success education is designed to inspire the intellect and energy inside each individuals. Form this general perspective, a truly effective education should answer to the demand of discrepant interests students apparently. Just like the diverse courses provided by the universities today, various from engineering, business and nature science to veterinary, divinity and archeology. We cannot even list the complete items within a whole page. These proper specifically designed education opportunities provide students different platforms to show up their endowed abilities and follow their own interests and needs. Tremendous contributions from universities to society in the way of providing manpower have already proven themselves’ success in using specifically designed education system.

However, dedicating in pandering to each student’s interests and needs is merely a vain attempt. From a simple view angle---considering the number of educators in our society, it is not realistic for them to investigate in each student’s interests and needs then plan the educational mode accordingly. In addition, students are mainly in the days of their youth and don’t have a mature interests and needs. It is entirely possible that their attentions on a particular subject or their needs in a specific area are enticed only by short-term curiosity and are not durable. In this case, trying to design education or instructions based on each students is seemingly naïve and unwise. In other words, despite the best intention on reflect changing needs of each student, we shall not and are not able to dogmatically apply this specific education upon each student without scrutiny.

What’s more, for certain other purpose, a more general education is advantageous to and more appropriate than specific education. A basic universal education to all the students is indispensable for it offers the new generation of society the basic knowledge as to be an eligible citizen. As Francis Bacon once said: “Histories make men wise; poets witty; the mathematics subtle; natural philosophy deep; moral grave; logic and rhetoric able to contend.” I would like to add that the overall knowledge can also broaden the outlook of a student and maintain the enjoyment as his or her life goes on. On the contrary, a specifically designed education may focus on only several aspects and whittle the emphasis on others. This kind of unbalance can probably jeopardize the student’s sound perspective by barely intensifying some part of it---even if this part is alleged to be the interests and needs. For example, moral subjects as well as common sense on nature, history or literature are influential for a student to pursue a healthy character and bright future.

In conclusion, because of the inherent function of education which inspires the particular intellect from oneself, reasonable people with different considerations will always discuss on the specific educational mode. We need to keep a levelheaded mind in addressing this problem. With the understanding of positive effects the particularly designed education brings to us, we nevertheless should exercise caution on generalizing it to each student. Meanwhile, we are supposed to appreciate the general education that provides us an overall perspective about this world.
