185"Scandals—whether in politics, academia, or other areas—can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could."

提纲:
1丑闻可以把长期潜伏的坏人揪出来免得他们激素继续危害社会。
2丑闻可以暴露制度的缺陷。
3丑闻可以反映出社会公众存在的问题。

Sometimes, some scandals-in politics, academia, or other areas-are disclosed. Are scandals useful? In this statement, the author hold a positive viewpoint, because they can focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could. Generally speaking, I concede it.

In the first place, scandals can reveal the moral failure of some people who seem integrity          on the surface.  This kind of people conceal in the government, the longer he or she hides, the greater harm he or she may do to society. Alberto Fujimori, former President of Peru, owned there president selection, but he was enrolled in the scandal that he had bribed representative of opposition party. As a result, the disgraced president became the first president who referred resignation in foreign country-Japan. Absent the scandal, Alberto as a president might continue to destroy the democracy, even worse. In that sense, scandals turn out to be constructive.

In the second place, every scandal has its soil which nourishes it. Scandals' another function is just help us to eliminate the soil. Close scrutiny reveals that the reason of scandals often turns out to be the defects of the institution. As empirical evidence indicate that excessive concentration and lack of supervision often serve as the soil culture of corruption. Considering that point, in order to kill corruption ultimately, we must perfect democracy and reinforce the authority of public prosecutor. Undoubtedly, scandals can provide us inspiration and help us to amend the flaws of institution.

Last but not the least, scandal can not only reveal the moral failure of some individuals, but also reveal the vice of the masses. For example, Huang yuxi who published apiece of thesis in the magazine science to proclaim that he had succeeding in cultivating tailor-made stem cell matching with the gene of patients  was catapulted to the hero of South Korea. When his academic scandal is disclosed by MBC, the masses of South Korea felt angry at MBC, many people even threat MBC, because they think that the disclosure make Korean science lose the respect of the world. Apparently, the scandal not only reveals the moral failure of the party, but also reveals the blind patriotism of the citizens of South Korean.     -

To sum up, scandals are favorable in mirroring the moral failure of individuals, the flaw of the masses and the defects the flaws of institution to focus publics attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could, which will bring about advance.

In the second place, every scandal has its soil which nourishes it. Scandals' another function is just help us to eliminate the soil. Close scrutiny reveals that the reason of scandals often turns out to be the defects of the institution. As empirical evidence indicate[s] that excessive concentration [of powers] and lack[ing] of supervision often serve as the soil culture of corruption. Considering that point, in order to kill corruption ultimately, we must perfect democracy and reinforce the authority of public prosecutor. To sum up, scandals are favorable in mirroring the moral failure of individuals, the flaw of the masses and the defects the flaws of institution [defects 在这里的含义是?]to focus publics attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could, which will bring about advance.

全篇逻辑清楚,论证过程中层次再深入的话就更好了。
