The argument seems right at the first glance. Adopting a set of restrictions on landscaping and housepainting may be a good way to raise property values in an area. But the author fails to convince us that Deerhaven Acres is suitable for this change.Without a careful compare between Deerhaven and Brookville or a survey among the inhabitant in Deerhaven, it is not wise to make this decision.

In the first place, there is no information about both Deerhaven and Brookville provide to us. Maybe Brookville is a new area (all its buildings are built recently, or they are building at that time). It is good for its denizen to adopt a set of restrictions. But the condition is not the same in Deerhaven Acres. Probably it is an old area that has long history. Many buildings in that area have their own stories. Adopting a set of restrictions blindly is a destruct to those historic buildings. Not only can’t the action raise property values, but also even limits the values of the area. So the author needs to give us more information to make the argument more evidencing.

In the second place, whether the inhabitant in Deerhaven will agree with those restrictions in unknown. It is possible that the inhabitant in Deerhaven have different personality from the inhabitant in Brookville. Perhaps the inhabitants in Brookville are more uniform. They are easy to receive the restrictions on landscaping and housepainting. On the contrary, perhaps most of the inhabitants live in Deerhaven are young peoples, and they want to show their own characters though external things, especially the house landscaping and housepainting..

Last but not least, is it the only way to raise the average property values in Brookville that adopting a set of restrictions on how landscaping and housepainting? There are so many ways to triple the area’s values. For example, the actions as increasing the area of green ground, planting more trees, or improving the traffic condition in that area are all useful to raise the average property values of an area. Adopting a set of restrictions on landscaping and housepainting is a part of causes to raise Brookville’s value, but just do that is not enough.

In conclusion, raising property values in Deerhaven Acres is not a simple thing. In order to strengthen the argument, the committee of homeowners needs give us more information about both Deerhaven and Brookville, and provide a survey data to show that the inhabitant in Deerhaven agree with those restrictions. Moreover, improving the whole environment in Deerhaven is the best and most useful way to raise property values there.
