The speaker asserts that political decisions and activities affect all aspects of people’s lives. It has merit from a normative standpoint, and I agree in so far as.

Firstly, from the view of history, political decisions and activities had a profound influence on the lives of people in different countries. In American history, when the president Linken announced the abolition of slavery, the blacks finally received the freedom, which was a great milestone in the development of America. That means the blacks could freely choose the working places, the kinds of work and so on. Besides, the measure of liberating slavers also significantly impelled the progress of liberation activities in the Latin American countries. Furthermore, as is well known, the two world wars in the 20th century had an extremely profound influence on the people of all over the world. The previous peaceful lives were suddenly disturbed, the agriculture and industry production were compulsorily stopped and the school education also had to change according to the policies of the war. Simultaneously, people in Swiss luckily avoided the negative influences caused by the two world wars, since its government kept neutrality during the two world wars.

Secondly, with more and more put emphasis on the development of social democracy, the relationship between polities and ordinary people becomes closer. For example, the election of American president, which gives more free rights to civil for participating the political activities, have attracted millions of Americans and even more and more people from all over the world to focus it nearly every four years. Another important example, which describes the intimate relationship between political activities and people’s lives, is about Iraq. As we known, it is apparent that the present miserable situations in Iraq are caused by its unstable political activities and decisions.

However, not all the influence brought by the political activities and decisions are unfortunate. For example, the constructions of the legal system are benefit to the social security. As the more complete and proper legal systems are made, the ratio of committing crime will gradually decline, and then there is more guarantee that people can work and study under a relative safe environment. Besides, the constructions of culture also have a positive and active influence on society. For instance, to some extent, taking more measures of improving education will make a great progress of the comprehensive quality of people.

Finally, it should be prudent for a leader to make a political decision or policy, since they have an important influence on all aspects of people’s lives. For example, Deng Xiaoping, the great leader of China, made a significant policy on the opening and reform, which has greatly improved the economy power and peoples’ living standards.
