In this argument ,the author suggests of adopting a set of restrictions on landscaping and housepainting  just as Brookvile has done seven years ago to raise property values in Deethaven Acres(DA).To justify his suggestion the author cites the facts that homeowners in Brookvile community adopted a set of restriction on how the community's yards should be landscaped and colors the exteriors of homes should be painted, and since then average property values have tripled in that area. Close scrutiny, however, reveals that this suggestion is logically flawed in several respects.
First of all,the author neglects the reason why  Brookvile adopted a set of restrictions. It may be a town whose income comes mainly from tourists, so it has to adopt a set of restrictions on the community's yards and the exteriors of homes to make the town more attractive. There're also possibility that Brookvile was competing for a title such as "The most pleasant town national wide " with other towns ,thus to raise the  odds of winning it adopted restrictions to leave the judges with good impressions. Thus, the author cannot convince me on following Brookvile's step without telling why Brookvile did so.
Secondly, there're no necessary links between the restrictions and the raise of average property values in Brookvile .The raise may be a result of more immigrants or more visitors, and they demand more yards and homes, thus ,as  the number of yards and homes is limited ,the price raised .Since there's no evidence that the restrictions leaded to the raise of average property values.
Even if the raise of average property values was due to the restrictions the wrongly assumes that it will have the same effect on DA .However the author overlooks the different situations between the two places .Residents in DA may be not intrested in landscape or  exterior of homes .Or the restrictions may not be carried out easily because most residents opposed to them. Without ruling out these possibilities ,the author cannot make a sound suggestion.
In sum, this argument rests on several untenable assumptions that render it unconvincing. To better support his suggestion, the author has to make a survey on the reason of adopting restrictions in Brookvile, and whether the property values raised due to the  restrictions. And the author also has to provide the information of populace, area in both area.
