As we are social creatures, the society which we are living in inevitably affect us in lots of aspects such as the dressing, behaviors etc. Although we can still get much information about the culture backgrounds, values and so on of certain society from the appearance and behavior of its people, these reflections of distinguished societies' values become less obvious and sometimes extinguishes due to the globalization of the world, also personal attitude and views are not easily indicated from the outside of the person.
  
Admittedly, differences between cultures still exist to some extent, and the look, cloth can reveal the inner nature of these cultures. There are a variety of cultures in the world, and each has its own particular. This is more or less incarnated on the appearances or behavior of its people. Take the Middle East people and Americans for example, there is a strict restriction on the cloth which women in Middle East can wear, they are always required to wear cloth that covers all her body except the face even in summer, Whereas American women are wearing much more casually and free to choose whatever they wanted on most circumstances. This different wearing customs between the two places reflect the different culture backgrounds. American may adore the views such as freedom, equality between woman and man, nevertheless, the Middle East may be a more rigid and hierarchy society. Therefore, we can tell some about the different values and cultures from the appearance of people in different places.

However, during the process of globalization, distinguished religions' values and customs may not be reflected on the behaviors and appearance of its people. As we enter into the modern society, the unique cultures are facing a tremendous challenge. Nowadays we become more interacted with each other, then we are more easily access to different cultures and consequently being affected by them. Although we want to maintain to diversities of cultures, the people from special culture background are inevitably affected by the main culture which are taken granted as a common one by a large proportion of people in our society. Then these particular group people may be forced to give up their special customs under the pressure of seeking an acceptance by the majority people. Then these precious values, ideas may become disappeared and their current appearance and behavior no longer reflect the cultures which they belong to.

In addition, the appearance and behavior of ourselves may not reflect our attitudes or views. We are creatures which are good at disguising and imitating. We all want to have some secrets to ourselves, then the outlooks of us do not always embody the inner feelings, thoughts of ourselves. For example, the person who may have a deficient attitude in certain aspect, such as the ethical discrimination, and he might not want other people to discover it and try to disguise the defect. He may dress as an ordinary people, and always try to hide his view from the public and behave nicely toward the black people in public places. Then we can not deduce his attitude from his behaviors and thus treat him as a good person with no flaws in his moral attitudes. As mentioned above, we are not always directly related to our outlooks which ostensibly seems incarnate the views, values we hold.

To sum up, appearance and behaviors, which are the outside of human beings, are always associated with the values, attitude, which we hold and represents the inner natures of different cultures. But the outside are not constantly embody the inside, and we should always be aware of this.

可以反应一个文化背景的特点，楼主论述的挺好的丫，但是如果能再进一步分析，为什么会有这种现象，比如每个个体是有个性的，但是在大的文化背景下，不同的个体之间由于宗教、信仰、教育环境、生活习惯，及审美观点的相似又使得个体体现出一种共性，这种共性承载着文化，同时穿着和外貌in a sense可以反应这种共性，从而使得我们可以解读出文化。

Let us first ignore the conception of culture, whether it be a society conception or could be attributed to certain group. My argument is such, since the culture you referred to is actually diminishing or assimilated by the main culture, the tuned appearance and custom towards the main culture is just an apt illustration supporting that look and dress embodies the culture, and even we can read about the dynamics of a culture from them.

楼主的中心句说的是由于人们会伪装，所以行为和表现出来的可能不一样。后面举的例子说，有的人看起来像正常人，其实是个种族主义者。挑剔一点的说，如果这个人或者在利益的驱使下，表面上很亲近黑人，背地里是个种族主义分子，或许会更充分一些。
Moreover，其实表里不一这种情况，或许并不一定总是由于伪装导致的，有一些东西是从外表上面解读不出来的，比如，一个穿着邋遢的老人，肯能是某个领域的学者。

To sum up, appearance and behaviors, which are the outside of human beings, are always associated with the values, attitude, which we hold and represents the inner natures of different cultures. But the outside are not constantly embody the inside, and we should always be aware of this.
