Is the only responsibility of corporate executives to earn as much money as possible for their companies, as long as they stay within the law? In my view, except for earning money, they still have other various kinds of responsibility, all of which regard earning money for the companies as the whole purpose.

It is right for a corporate executive to earn as much money as possible for his company. However, there are also some other responsibilities, which call for his enough attention. Apparently, the responsibility of corporate executives surely includes employing employees. A good corporate executive has to have got a clairvoyance to discover eminent employees. Only with employee excellent enough, can a company go on a good way toward great profits.

I have read a sentence written by a famous people that (with a slight adjustment) each person can only hold enough knowledge to add one small rung to the ladder, but together we can climb to the moon. The capability of each person is limited, but together it will make a great difference. Taking an insurance company for example, the amount of insurance fee earned by one person alone could never match with the total incoming when all the staffs spare no effort to do their own works. Corporate executive is the leader of all the staff, holding every worker together and harmonizing the relationship among staffs, which, of course, is a responsibility of great importance of a corporate executive. Furthermore, having the right to decide position and salary of the staffs, a corporate executive ought to have a good sense to use the promotion as award to encourage staffs to do a good job. Only working in a harmony atmosphere and being encouraged every now and then, can all the employees devote themselves into working, in which case that the company could surely achieve the maximal profits.

As the leader of staffs, no responsibility is more important than decision-making. So many opportunities are lingering around you, some of which may be golden chance and some may be just tempting ostensibly. It is the corporate executive who should tell them apart, pointing out a direction having promising prospect. In that case, even if the corporate executive does little in earning money himself, the company would gain immense fortune under the wise guidance of the corporate executive.

In sum, employing staffs, help the establishment of a harmony relationship among staffs, giving staff suitable position and salary, pointing out the advancing direction, are all responsibilities of a corporate executive, but all of which have the common interest that earning as much money as possible for the company.
