120"So much is new and complex today that looking back for an understanding of the past provides little guidance for living in the present."

提纲:
1世界确实在迅速变化，今天确实更加复杂。
2人性中的很多方面都没有变，历史叫我们怎样克服人性的弱点。
3历史可以启发我们战胜新的挑战。

A century ago, when Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright’s first aircraft took, human beings can not help to acclaim, because their dream to soaring like birds come true for the first time, it is impossible for them to predict that in 20th century, human being get rid of the earth’s gravitation and enter the space. Unluckily, human beings confront a series of problems such as energy crisis, criminalization of drug use etc. unquestionably, today is very new and complex ,however, is it useless for us to look back and understand of the past as the statement said? I disagree that.

Admittedly, the world is changing fast. Science and technology is changing the overall world, internet accelerate the communication, gene engineering enable us to create new species. Globalization connects the people all of the world tightly, the marked development of international trade improves the utility of consumers. However, the world also confronts a lot of challenging problems such as pollution, biodiversity loss, the income gap between different hierarchies, the spread of terrorism and so on.

However, when we face the mirror, we see the same human nature with our ancestors. Many respects of human nature keep consistent. Neither technology nor globalization has changed the prejudice, greediness, selfishness, which is the fountainhead of human disasters. In that sense, history provides us the method to overcome the weak points of human being in case they jeopardize us again. For example, in history, due to the prejudice to Jew, Adolph Hitler launched the holocaust to Jew. Absorbing inspiration from that tragedy, we immerse our effort to prohibit racial prejudice. Similarly, beggar-my-neighbor policy did great harm to the economy of world, absorbing the  inspiration, we make effort to decrease tariff and non-tariff barriers. Those effort promotes the development of economy, and ultimately ameliorate the standard of people's life. For that matter, history is a priceless heritage which our ancestors passed down to us.

What's more understanding the past can help us to overcome new challenges. It has been four million years since human beings came into being,  in so long history, our ancestors overcame so many difficulties. Even that can not provide panacea to solve new problems, we can absorb experience and lessons to solve new problems nowadays. In world war 2, countries united to beat Nazi, similarly, confronting terrorism, we should unite again. In history, many fierce disease which jeopardized human beings, such as smallpox are eliminated by science. That give us conviction to beat HIV by science, we should try our best to exploit effective medicine to kill that disease. Besides the failures to legislate moral action tell us it is doomed to fail to legislate such actions like surfing adult materials via internet.

To sum up, although the world has changed greatly, many respects of human nature keep consistent, which make it possible for us to inspiration from history. Besides, the experience of our ancestors can help us to overcome new challenge.
