In this era of science and technology bringing to us not only impact but also improvement, we always try to explore whether science determine social customs and ethics, as the author asserts. However, in my opinion, technologies surely influence our social customs and ethics, but not the power hinging them on.

I agree with the assertion that technologies influence our social customs and ethics. In this era of rapid science and technology development, our life and our mind have been changed in almost every realm, which I will take three of them as examples. Firstly, the development of science and technology has altered much traditional custom and mind. For example, women's status has been improved much compared with the past, and owing to genetics, we now know intermarriage is not could marry everyone we like, rather than let our parents decide. Secondly, in lifestyle, science and technology offer us too many methods to enjoy entertainment in and improve ourselves, which could be identified from our lifestyle now. Just like we now have many single persons, who could enjoy more entertainment the technology provided, and we also have many no child home, in which the couple have more time on their individuals, rather than devoting to raising children. Additionally, the most important aspect, due to the development of science and technology, our productivity improved a lot and we have more property now. More and more capital could be offered to education, thus we become more intellect in mind.

However, although science development has changed so many aspects in our life and mind, yet the essence of morality remains steady. Just like: we are still fealty to our parents, though with other way; still loyal to our country, just not imprudent; passionate to our friends, though sometimes not so actual. Ethics and customs are the results of human communication and interaction, which remains with several crucial principals. That is we respect life as well as individuals, we treat others friendly in order to be treat friendly. From the discussion above, we know the influence the technologies taking is only on the face, rather than the essence. So, that could determine the social customs and ethics is human, not the development of technologies.

On the contrary, when technologies impact our social customs and ethics, it is counteracted by the two at the same time. As everything in this world should be moderated, so is the science and technology. For supporting examples, we need look no further to the issue--clone. Even if many scientists claim that we have grant the whole technology of human clone, moral rules restricted this, due to its uncertain result in ethics. Another example is that no matter how a better result will get through human body experiment, the progress that if really done, will cause much denounce from all over the world.

So, when come to the end, I have to my point, that is no matter what influence technologies bring to our social customs and ethics, it could not determine ethics.
