关于出国留学携带钱的问题大家可不可以再讨论详细一点，请学经济、金融的同学给点意见

我个人觉得钱的事情非常重要，而且很琐碎。有几个问题值得大家讨论一下。以前那些帖子过于官方，也并不实用。我抛砖引玉，想出几个问题。谢谢并欢迎大家参与讨论  :)

首先， 对于申请到全奖的同学，大家说说还需要带多少钱合适？
其次， 因为本人对汇率没有研究，所以想知道携带美元过去好，还是携带人民币过去换美元合适？
再次， 如果全部带现金（为省去汇票和旅行支票的手续费，免去与至少两个银行打交道的麻烦）是否可行？
最后， 如果携带现金超过4000美元，不办理协汇证可不可以？

在美国开帐户不需要ssn，不过申请credit card需要，否则你去了是申请不到的

if you have tuition wavier+TA/RA, you can bring the money covering your first three months, it is just support your daily life,you konw.
use credit card, do not use large amount of cash here , it is unsafe
you can apply a usa credit card here , you also can apply ssn here if you have a job
over 1WD, you should apply
do not bring much money , do not use much cash , be not chinese using money style here

I think you should take $2000-3000,these money will cover your first
month and last month of your apartment rent and deposit which is about
$1500,your fee to apply for and buy a cell phone  ,some commodities and
furnitures which is about $200-500 and some money for urgency.

you 'd better change them in china,  it is not very easy to change RMB to Dollar here(at least i know, maybe i dont know ,as i havn't change them here),but i have only seen people change in the airport

As i know everyone can only take $5000 each time, go to bank ask for a Postal Order (汇票) it is cheaper than travel check.

there's a US bank on campus ,and a Bank of America right 5 min on foot from campus. I advise you to open an account in Bank Of America, as it has the largest amount of branches in U.S
