之前看帖说JJ是当月的最重要,本人月末考 看了作文JJ,ms D/A是主打,A/B也在考,所以再练练A/B了,用的和D/A一样的写法,不晓得可不可以? 10.6JJ: To award student's efforts or achievement, which one is better?
In today’s society, one must consider- Is it good to praise student’s great efforts? In many cases, it is absolutely right---- students should be encouraged to go through hell, solve all kinds of problems and thus become strong and capable. However, different people hold different views on it not only because of their respective backgrounds but also due to their alien understandings. From my point of view, to give a prize for student’s achievement is much better.
The first reason is that students should set a goal and try to achieve it. That is to say, without a certain goal, all the efforts are a waste of time and power. A good example may be found in the case that my fifteen year old sister is always busy learning languages. From eight year old, she began to learn “ABC” and sing English songs. Two years later, she transferred her attention to French and again to German. But now she is a Japanese fever, although a bit of daily words can she say, expressing “Nice to meet you”, “Thank you very much”, “Goodbye”. As far as I have seen, she spent at least six years on those languages but cannot write an article in any of them. Should I say congratulations to her six years? Obviously, she is failed since a definite goal is much more important than aimless efforts. Therefore, we may give more rewards to student’s achievements.
In addition, many useless efforts are discouraged, not to say awarded. To illustrate, let us see that my brother Tim, a primary school student, failed in his Math course by making efforts on his Gym course, and my neighbor Ross, an engineer in a global company, dreamt to promote by struggling to work hard off duty and what’s more one of my friends Mary, a considerable fat girl, tried to lose her weight by eating three bars of chocolates every day. How can they succeed? Hence, both common sense and our experience inform us that many efforts accurately deserve nothing.
Finally, frankly speaking, there is also a more practical reason how to award achievements is much easily. In our daily life, can you calculate who spends more time, who exhausts more energy and who makes more sacrifice? Of cause you have no idea. However, to some extent, we can list a set of standards and regulations, put everyone’s result in the right order and give a reasonable evaluation, like score, rank and honor. So, we have seen and continue to see that achievements are more encouraging.
To sum up, my final point rests on a persuasive opinion towards more prizes for student’s good results. Then I believe that our students will be more energetic and successful.
