Is it true that the ideas and discoveries that are encountered on the way to the goal do matter rather than the attainment of a goal, in any field of endeavor, including the  sciences ,humanities,social sciences ,industry and so forth?The speaker believes so,but I cannot agree totally.In my view,a goal is part and parcel of success in many a field,which serves as a strong force that drive humans to perform to their potentials.Nontheless,it also makes sense when sometimes ,
the unexpected creative ideas generate during the course of exploration toward our previous
goal.
    I firstly  turn my  point of contention with the author as to underlie the significance of a goal.As the saying goes,where there is a will,there is a way.A determined goal enable people to go
every length to accomplish,somewhat like the effect of an activator,without which men lack
enough courage and dedication to accelerate the progress.Take the political field,it is the
responsibility for any president to promise his nation to achieve specific goals closely related to the mass.If no goals are set for the economic growth,how can the government insure the
stable financial income and how can it win the trust of its people?And the same holds true
when political leaders fail to build up an explicit and sufficient system to resolve the social
pressing problems people confronted.Otherwise,as far as I am concerned ,by no means is a
leader successful to be reelected president ,either by the critics and complaint of the polulace
or defeated by another more determined and organized candidate at least with clear goals that he or she confirms to achieve.
Furthermore,with respeact to the industry realm,the role of a proper goal can never be
ignored.Throughout the development of the industry,human beings have conquered one
chanllenging barrier by another and as we finally succeed in fulfilling an end we move on to
more problematic ones.The three celebrated Industrial Revolution are the best indications of
this.With the advent of new goals continually,humans thrive and proceed along the long road
of industrical inventions and knowledge and the like.
While I underscore the necessity of a goal,nevertheless,I now illustrate my accedence to the
author’s statement in that ,the novel ideas inspired in the process of pursuing a speicific goal
can outweigh the goal itself under certain circumstances.The example of the discovery of pennycillin perfectly testifies my point.Knight Alexander Fleming,theprestigious bacteriologist,uncovered  the mystery of pennycillin,when he was concentrated on the research on the staphylococcal bacteria.The unpredecent breakthough in medicine ,which paves the way for the widely
use of antiseptic treament,undoubtedly,exibits more priority over the previous research issue.Therefore,we cannot rule out the possibilities that the surprising gift of the God may one day
come to our hands ,on condition that we pay extra attention to things accompanying us.
To sum up,I am dubious of the author’s assertion that undermines the senseof a very goal towards success .In the analysisi above ,it deserves people’s effort to set a goal whatsover,in order to place more pressure and motives to push us forward.Yet,at the same time,I also contend that to some extent,encouraging original flame sparked alongside with the destination does contributes more than we can imagine.
