Several Tips About English Language Study

●Why I Write This Article?
I began to take English study seriously when I was at the age of 12--- quite late, right? But fortunately, I succeeded to go through many problems and difficulties during my time of English study, which I learned a lot simultaneously. That is why I write this article--- to give several useful and efficient advice (at least it seems to me) to English learners, who are in the confusion of English study and have no idea how to do it well.

●  RLSW---- four basic skills for language learners
Inarguably, for the majority of language learners, their goals are appreciable--- that is, to make progress about their Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing skills. However, some English learners do not realize how to upgrade their skills properly and appropriately. From my perspective, there are some efficient ways that fit all of us.

●R/W: Coherence
Both in the reading and writing, the ability of thinking coherently and logically are of significance--- suppose a person who is not able to think according to a single pattern, or a person cannot learn to think naturally like the other people, chances are slim for such an individual to become an excellent reader/ writer. Nevertheless, such ability still needs time--- just as the old saying goes “ practice makes perfect”--- the same it is in the reading and writing training. One of the best way to train oneself to be an excellent reader or writer is to read and write a lot. I have such experience when I was in 15, I have already learned a number of English words at that time, but I still have difficulty reading English books, let alone finished an English composition successfully. When I realized I did not read enough, I determined to take a further step apart from learning vocabularies--- to develop a habit of reading English books every week. Needless to say, my ability to read promoted dramatically owing to my continuous practice, which I am benefited even today.

●L/S: Interest and Passion
Different from the training of reading and writing, the training of speaking and listening cannot be improved only through practice--- once I heard a guy from Tsinghua University, who tried to improve his listening skills through listening English news for eight years and still fail to achieve his goal--- why did he fail to realize his language goal? Not because he did not work hard enough, but maybe because he lacks passion of listening. Perhaps it would suffice to mention LiYang, the creator of Crazy English. Funny enough, his massful love experience inspired him to be one of the greatest English teachers in China: when he was in the college, he went through one tragic experience of losing love--- his girlfriend damped him and went to another guy just because that guy could speak English fluently!! Ever since that experience, LiYing spared no effort to improve his speaking ability and finally became an excellent English teacher. Perhaps this example is a little extreme, but here is the point I want to emphasize--- to improve your listening and speaking skills, your passion and your interest about English is paramount.
