Should all faculty be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach? It might be tempting to agree with the speaker, based on that practice play important roles to improve method(似乎有点不通?based on the theory that…似乎好点).However, a far more compelling argument can be made that, some faculty do not need to work outside the academic world.
There are several reasons for my agreement with the speaker, since method comes from practice. For instance, teachers who teach economical courses should take some business activities in order to improve their understanding about business. These teachers should hold some information about the market, have some important business cases in mind, and understand consumers' mind (consumer’s taste). Only in this way can they teach students how to use what they learn in college. What's more, some teachers who teach mathematics or biology, for example, need practice to improve method. If teachers do not know what is useful to students, how can they decide what to teach and what to omit. We do not want to see the phenomenon that students fail to complete any tasks using what they learn in college, when they complete their college education.
On the other hand, some teachers are not necessary to spend their time working outside, this is because their courses is different from others. We all know that literature have no place to practice, so teachers do not have to work outside. Reading more books seems more important to them(删掉)for them to improve their knowledge and quality of instruction, and working outside will be a waste of time. If they want to get some resources for creating, get a job might be not necessary. In addition, art is an special subject that some work of art itself is an job. Some artists, for examples drawer, drawing pictures are their job and practice. Lastly, different teachers have different habits, working outside might have the neglect effect to improve the quality of instruction.我觉得这段写的角度很好,两个方面,但是你第一句中心局没有体现出来,我觉得可以把中心局再改的更扣你的意思更详细点
In conclusion, some faculty should work outside in order to improve the quality of instruction. However, it is not necessary to ask all faculty do it. This is because different people have different conditions, we can not ask all people do the same thing without thinking about it.
