The speaker points out the importance of the science today and suggests that all students should pay attention to it even if they are not interested in it. It is true that science plays an importance role as the development of technology of the world, nevertheless, other aspects such humanities and ethics also serve to cultivation of a success human being. Besides, we cannot ignore the role of interest contributing to the success of human beings.

I fundamentally agree with the speaker’s contention that science is of importance in a modern society. It is common that taking an airplane from the east of the earth to the west of the earth in several hours and to control or observe the temperature and humidity of greenhouse so that vegetables can grow up in a comfortable environment. Internet serves to our daily life, helping us communicate with relative faraway from us and facilitating the conferences which members locate all over the world. Science affects our daily life now and then and learning science becomes a necessary part of our life as modern students. However, learning about science doesn’t mean that students ranging from physics to literature should dig out the science. Students who are in the science major don’t need to pay much attention on it.

Besides science, other aspects such as ethics and humanities also serve to cultivation of a success man/woman which is the ultimate goal of education and student should also take some course about this aspect. It is true that mastering a science skill would be easier for a candidate student to earn his own position in modern society, however, when someone loses his principle or twist his value that contributing himself to the society; something he has mastered may jeopardize the whole society when he took his skill as a useful tool to revenge. It is not a coincident that most countries in modern world and our ancestors emphasize on the education of ethics and humanity. No matter where we are, when we are born, humanity and ethics are always a part of education we cannot ignore. Especially in the modern world nuclear weapons and chemical weapons threading our lives all the time, people with ethics and humanities would become the most effective defense against the world war and avoid the abuse of high technology weapons.

No matter what courses students take, interest is always the most useful guide leading students to the success. It is lucky that students have interested in science courses, but if they don’t, we cannot push them to learn and even we did, we cannot appreciate that they will got marvelous achievement on it. Sometimes students might not have to pay attention to science courses especially those whose major is far away from the science such as art and literature. Maybe for the students of the two major, imaginations and experience will be more helpful for the creation of a successful product. I believe Van Gogh has no idea about science, but he became a greatest artist in the world which thanks to his interest in art.

In sum, the speaker emphasizes the importance of science which student living in the modern world cannot ignore. However, the speaker overlooks other aspects which will also serve to the success education of students and the role interest play in a student study lives.

Maybe for the students of the two major(majors), imaginations and experience will be more helpful for the creation of a successful product. I believe Van Gogh has no idea about science, but he became a greatest artist in the world which thanks to his interest in art.

In sum, the speaker emphasizes the importance of science which student living in the modern world cannot ignore. However, the speaker overlooks other aspects which will also serve to the success education of students and the role interest play in a student study lives.
