ISSUE50 - "In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach."

Education, after thousands years developed, has become to not the teaching knowledge in classroom, which need more experience in practice field rather only in the limited academic field. Thus, to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, professors would teach in more effective way after they spent some time in working outside the academic world.

Firstly, faculty, who are actively engaged in their field, would take more fresh insight and contagious excitement about the issue on the hand. Beast on the professional knowledge, faculty could choose more valuable information to enhance the researches, which might confuse them for a long time and researchers might neglect some significant glance without the major. Take the marketing major as one example, one question may be suspended almost one year or longer, and no one could give the solution just because no precedent existed and no passage, which is related to. Professors should change their mind and working condition, if at that time they spend some time in selling in the real market, all possible questions would be appeared and must be solved immediately, as the result of the ‘customs is God’, which is the fundamental back ground in this field.

Additionally, the professors, who are keeping abreast with the changing demand of work in their field, would take the fresh information about the work condition and the direction of some famous companies would employ. They perhaps can help students who are serious about pursuing a career in that field by making more informed career decision. Hardly one student could well know one company, if he just graduated from university, and know nobody who is working there. But if his professor once worked there, or some company else in the same field, he might tell his students what will they do when they are employed, and how to improve their working capability, at least, they could tell the working condition, which will be one most valuable piece of information he received.

Thirdly, experience in the field can help a professor ferret out cutting-edge and controversial issue, which might be appropriate subject for research and publication. Development is beast on the never stopping steps of human being, and the exact people who have been devoted in to researches are just scientists, they spent almost all their lives in study, such as Marry Courier, one famous Finland scientist. But as the developing of modern world, invention would not be brought as easy as hundreds years ago, and professors need to ferret out the newest demand and satisfy it. So working out of academic world, take more chance to observe the society and to find fresh idea add in to the creation.
   
However, benefit of working outside would not be brought by any one, and teachers, whose major is just the words or structure, such as history, literature, mathematics, etc, are wasting limited time and energy if they are forced to working anywhere but library or laboratory. And they may find it is difficult to relevant their courses they teach to the social jobs.
