Whether a discipline of academia canadvance significantly without the introduction of knowledge and experienceoutside this field, as the speaker maintains? I strongly agree with this claim. In spite of certain fundamental fields, such as mathematics, philosophy, mostdisciplines require the help of the outsiders.
Admittedly, when it comes to certain disciplines which are fundamental, theinteraction between knowledge and experience of insider and that of outsider isnot so necessary. For instance, the mathematics owes its significantadvancement to the exact logical reasoning from a series of axioms andassumptions upon which it is based. That’s to say, the maths revises andperfects itself without the other fields’ intervention. A revolutionarynew philosophy system which brings about great development of the philosophycan be attributable to the ideologist’s profound exploration in his mind of thelaws that the natural word, human society, as well as the human being follow. And the advancement of philosophy depends on the philosopher’s personalinsight.(首段中作者表明的态度是强烈支持题目观点的,因此这段让步补充内容最好放在最后一段)
Nevertheless, as to those disciplines which are derivate(derivated) from the fundamental ones, for example, engineering, medicine, the significant progresses are made possible by other fields’specialists who can bring their majors’ knowledge and experience in. With thehelp of expertise from diverse realm, we can view the work at hand in adifferent perspective, and acquire inspiration to sweep the obstacle, therebyachieving significant promotion of our realm, or even resulting in the birth ofa new discipline. For example, CAD (Computer Aided Design), which profoundlyimproves the manner that the engineers design and analyze, is the result of theintroduction of software into industry. Moreover, the support advancingfrom other field also benefits our realm in preventing the predominant ideas’influence.
Furthermore, the speaker’s statement would have more merit in this new century. With the increasing ability to create their own destiny, the human race is soambitious to achieve greater things that those objectives are impossible to beaccomplished by experts merely from one realm. For examples, the Apollo Program(ApolloProject 阿波罗计划) undertakenby NASA, through which human was launched to the moon first time, is a classicfulfilled by more 20,000 companies, and a multitude of scientific institutionsand colleges from varied fields. And through this program, many engineeringrealms advanced significantly and therefore the U.S.A regained its leadershipin the technology in the world.(本段首句作者提到new century,可是举的例子却是阿波罗登月这样的“古老”例子,按照段首句定下的基调,作者本应该多论证在科学最新发展中学科交叉互相交流的必要性的)
In sum, except several fundamental disciplines which can revise and prefectthemselves, most fields need the introduction of knowledge and experience ofother realms to achieve significant advancement. And there is a tendency thatthe development of modern discipline increasingly depends on the knowledge ofother realms.(个人认为结尾可以用一些更有力道的句子,效果会比软绵绵的“有一种趋势”好的多)
