The speaker believes that the destiny of society depends on how children are socialized. I conceded that socialization plays an important role in social development. However, it is not the only key to determine the future of society.

Admittedly, the positive ways in which children are socialized contributes profoundly to a healthier society. After all, socialization is a significant way by which the social values, culture and moral norms are handed down by one generation of social member to another. Without the continuity, individuals would be at loose ends and society would lose its stability. Let us take a modern democratic society as example. In such society, each child is educated to be a citizen who abides by social moral norms and laws. Contributing to others and society is also encouraged. We can easily see if socialization is successful, this society must operate well and people who live there will feel safe.

Moreover, the negative ways of socialization can bring balefulness to society. If positive values are ignored and negative values are enhanced in socialization process, society will be directed to an unexpected destination. During the World War II, for instance, children in Germany had been infused with Nazism. When they grew up, these evil ideas cause them to invade other countries and slaughter the Jews. Socialization had a key role in cultivating children into a Nazis.

Nevertheless, socialization is not the only factor to determine the destiny of society. In current world, technology also takes an important role in raising a better society. For example, the birth of Internet technology makes our society develop quickly. Relying on Internet, we can gain abundant information to enhance our study and work, and multifarious entertainments to make our lives more rich and colorful. Based on the growth of technology, we also make our society better.

In a sum, how children are socialized is important for the future of society. Yet, other factors, such as technology, also help us to bring out a better society. We should pay attention to all of these aspects.
