TOPIC: ISSUE26 - "Most people would agree that buildings represent a valuable record of any society's past, but controversy arises when old buildings stand on ground that modern planners feel could be better used for modern purposes. The assertion that modern develop should be given precedence over the preservation of historic buildings in order to serve contemporary need is open to doubt. I believe that some historic buildings can serve contemporary need as well.

Historic buildings is a good record of history, even if there are no paper records exist about a culture, historic buildings can serve well to prove about a culture. People are surprised by the grand building of Maya nowadays. However, when Indian people were mention in the past, people believe that they were fool or barbarous than Europeans. No one knows their history and no books have been written about them. It is till when people found their big buildings and relics of their ancestors, their creativeness and wisdoms are known to the public. So without historic buildings, we might face the same situation that loses our memories about our past.

Historic buildings serve contemporary needs not only in remembering our past and our culture, they also serve to meet aesthetic and technology needs.  We all know that many historic buildings have ancient styles which are different from modern buildings. A lot of architects look in to old buildings to find inspirations about the styles of new buildings. And sometimes the technology our ancestors used does surprise us more than the style. For instance, even after thousands of years, we still have no idea about how ancient Egypt people build their great pyramids. Historic buildings give us more than we need, more myth deserve us to explore. When a historic building is destroyed, it would never reappear again.

Historic buildings doesn't necessarily to interfere with modern buildings, however, with explosive popularity, more huge modern buildings are need to hold increasing number of people. Sometimes we need to replace old buildings with big and modern ones. It is sad that we destroy our culture and lose a ancient treasure our ancestors have given us. So before a building is put down, cautions measures are needed to take into consideration. We can use alterative means to recover the cost. Such as remove old building to somewhere else. I concede that though modern purpose is important, historic buildings can serve to benefit people as well, since they are always a attractive view for tourists.

In sum, historic can serve modern need. They are precious treasures from our ancestors which need to be taken care. Admittedly, sometimes modern buildings are urgent, and putting down some historic buildings is inevitable. We should be cautions about it.

In sum, historic can serve modern need. They are precious treasures from our ancestors which need to be taken care (take care的被动用法没见过…所以不知道对不对…). Admittedly, sometimes modern buildings are urgent, and putting down some historic buildings is inevitable. We should be cautions about it.

文章的思想还是不错的,表达略微欠缺了一点,尽量使用自己把握的句式和词汇.文章的中心必须要明确,看到结尾总感觉主体思路摇摆不定…topic是个比较型的东西~这点要注意了.以上纯属个人意见~~~
