25号给负责Graduate Program的Professor发邮件要钱，回复如下：

＂Congratulations! You have been admitted to our graduate program. As I indicated before that we will consider you for an assistanship. Please note, that decision will not be made until April 2009. We look forward to seeing you here in the Fall quarter, 2009.＂

大家觉得怎么样啊？希望大吗？需不需要和我自己的研究方向的导师再陶瓷（这个负责Graduate Program的Professor和我方向不太一样）。

Please note that your admissions status is "provisional," pending the receipt of the following documents:

Final/Official transcripts with MS degree

Provisional status is very common for incoming graduate students and indicates your enrollment is contingent upon your submission of missing documents, such as official transcripts, test scores, or other required materials. It is necessary for you to review the nature of your provisional status, and provide the Graduate Division with the required documents as soon as possible to prevent a block on your quarter registration.

Your "provisional" admissions status will be lifted when the required materials (listed above) arrive in the Graduate Division. Please direct transcripts or related correspondence to the following address:

申请之前给chairman发邮件,chairman就给我回复了下面的邮件:
"According to your TOEFL, GRE and GPA (your previous e-mail) you provided,  I feel that giving you an admission is likely and giving you a financial aid is not very likely, in my opinion. We look forward to seeing your application."
看到这邮件以后就犹豫要不要申请了,就又给chairman发了一封哭穷信,chairman又给我回复了一封我认为是官话的邮件:
"We will certainly consider you for an assistantship. Best wishes, "

所以19号拿到AD时候也没什么特别的感觉。自己自然很喜欢UCSB, 但要是没有financial aid, 也没法过活。 还是希望大家帮帮忙回答下面的问题,并祝福大家尽早拿到大OFFER.

1. UCSB是那种狂发AD的学校吗?　感觉不象啊。。。上界的师姐很优秀也被拒了啊
2. 之前听说Ph.D一般都financial aid, 是不是加州经济危机搞的
3. 有谁知道UCSB是统一先发AD还是AD和OFFER一起发?

我觉得你应该先问问小米，你可能不可能拿到financial aid
小米的回答应该有两种情况：
1）不行，我们的financial aid很紧张，你没有的
2）我们的financial aid 要在XX月XX日才会开始申

如果是第一中情况，你就努力套套教授看看吧，希望那个教授能看上你给你钱
如果是第二种，就还是有希望的，你可以再问问小米你的希望大不大啊之类的，当然也要努力套教授
