How to solve the world's most persistent social problem? As the speaker mentioned, there is a way that all nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students. As far as I am concerned, I agree with the speaker's assertion, but human beings need to pay attention some indispensable factors in order to guarantee the effect of the university.

First of all, there are varieties of persistent social problems in the world which exist in most of countries, such as the shortage of resource, environmental problem, and so on. All these problems have existed a long time in the history of human beings' development, even some of them become more and more serious along with the advancement of our society. For instance, the shortage of energy is an appropriate example, even caused a series of sever war, such as Mid-East war, greatly stresses all countries in the world. But the problem need each country to take part in and try to find an effective solution, otherwise the problem will exist in a long time and even cause a great collision between countries. Besides this problem, others will need all human beings' participation. Only by this, can some persistent social problem be solved effectively.

While it is difficult for every nation to get together to solve these immediate problems threatened peace and future of human beings because of diverse values, customs and other factors. If we cannot cope with these factors from an all-round perspective, there must be some collisions and contradicts between different countries. In this case, the presentation of building a global university is a wise choose to prevent potential contradicts happening, which provide all nations a possible fair and common stage to discuss and think about the persistent social problems. The development of a global university design to engage students with different backgrounds and customs from all over the world will improve the understanding of different country's custom. Because all these students could study and live together, they will try to get along with each other and respect other students' custom and national habits. Under this environment, they will know more about other nations from history to custom to others. As a result, with the help of these students, some serious problems can be avoided effectively, involving cultural collision, the commercial debate between different countries and so forth. Specially, it is possible that these students may be elected as their own countries' leader in the future. If so, the student will treat and solve the national or international problems effectively and properly because of their superior ability and broad horizon which is cultivated in the global university. So it is best method to design a global university to solve the world's persistent social problems.

However, we need to notice some vital factors in the university. As we know, every nation has a different position in the stage of politics and economy according to its extent of development. So, in this case, it inevitably leads to students' distinctive position in the university. The difference will cause a big trouble, if we ignore it. Moreover, the students from different countries may be likely to find a solution which is beneficial for their own nation because they are on the sake of their motherland. All these factors will cause unfair in the university.  So we should advocate fair and justice in the university in order to ensure every student a respect no matter where he or she comes from and impartiality in the process of solving some persistent problem.

To sum up, considering the benefit and necessary of a global university as discussed above, no one can deny the importance and effect of it. In some extent, it is also a good place for every nation to cultivate nation leader and diplomatist, who will play an important role in the process of solving the worlds most persistent social problems. But, we should ensure the fair and justify of the university, or it will be valid eventually.
