174. Every generation of people is different in important ways. How is your generation different from your parents' generation? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
People's habits and thoughts are greatly influenced by the environment where they grow up. That is why each generation has its own characteristic, in other words, is different from the others. No where in the world has the situation been more visible that our generation exhibits so much difference from our parents.
First, since the elders often find it too hard for them to adapt to the fast changes in society and yong adults are always the first to catch the fashion, how the two generation view new things can be quite different. It is widely admitted that the computer is the most important invention in the twentieth century since it has changed the way people work and live. Our generation is so lucky to witness the extraordinary fast development of computer, therefore we are more likely to accept the great things it has taken to us, such as the convenient communication methods, an easy way to store information and the fun of computer games. It has become an indispensible part of our everyday life. However, our parents most of whom can not catch the tide, they only see the bad aspects of the computer and are not able to accept it as a work facilitator.
Also, the way our generation deals with money is quite different from our parents’. Having experienced a long time of hard life, they are used to live a frugal life and have developed a habit of storing money for future use. To achieve that goal, they simply cut the financial output of the family, that is, if the matter is not must in the present time, they will not purchase it. They definitely seldom spend money on recreation. Nevertheless, our generation generally enjoys a higher pay than our parents. We put more emphasis on increasing the financial input of the family and to spend money on everything we want, especially those commodities which can make us relax and happy. That is really a quite different way of thinking.
To conclude, our generation is different in important ways from our parents, such as the way we look at new things and how we deal with money.

First, since the elders often find it too hard for them to adapt to the fast changes in the society, and young adults are always the first to catch the fashions, how the two generation view new things can be quite different. It is widely admitted that the computer (Technically speaking, it's the 'personal computer'. Real powerful, gigantic mainframes are still quite behind the scenes even now.) is the most important invention in the twentieth century, since it has changed the way people work and live. Our generation is so lucky to witness the extraordinary and fast (or use 'extraordinarily') development of computers, therefore we are more likely to accept the great things it has taken brought (This is a classic example of 'take' vs. 'bring'. The speaking party i.e. 'us', is the receiving end of the action, therefore 'bring' should be used instead of 'take'.) to us, such as the convenient communication methods, an easy ways to store information and the fun of computer games. It has become an indispensible part of our everyday life. Also, the way our generation deals with money is quite different from our parents’. Having experienced a long time of hard life, they our parents (It's not entirely clear who are 'they' referring to.) are used to living a frugal life and have developed a habit of storing (To 'store' money just reads weird. 'save' would be better.) money for future use. To achieve that goal, they simply cut the financial output of the family, that is, if the a matter ('Matter' usually refers to something abstract rather than something one would buy. I suggest 'commodity' or 'article' or just simply 'something'.) is not a must in the present time, they will not purchase it. They definitely seldom spend money on recreation. Nevertheless, our generation generally enjoys a higher pay than our parents did. We put more emphasis on increasing the financial input of the family and to spend money on everything we want, especially those commodities which can make us relax and be happy.
