In this information age, computer and internet become an integral part of everyday life. The e-book based on computer has developed to a new type of reading material and is more and more widely accepted. For the sake of its characters such as rapid updating, no need for physical space and readily available to download, some people allege that the electron reading materials will eventually take the place of the printed books in twenty years, just like the paper books had finally substituted the tortoise shells or bamboo-slips in ancient time. However logical it sounds, it only skins the surface of the problem. Without considering my particular love of book, I won’t deny the trends, but I still tend to insist that, to students, the situation is different.

In each student’s soul, book still plays an irreplaceable role in his life. In front of its incomparable advantage, the superiority of the computer and the electron reading material seems rarely appealing and will be reluctant to overthrow its position in student’s heart. Firstly, the knowledge that student learn from every curriculum organized by school is all the fundamental of each field, which updates by inches even in 20 years, merely book can meet the needs, electron data’s rapid-pace updating seems useless. Secondly, although e-book can store in the USB plate or mobile hard drive which are portable to some extent, we couldn’t guarantee computers are ubiquitous, as well as we couldn’t assure it’s available to read anytime. By contrast, students are more inclined to hold a favorite book when they are enjoying trip or studying in a quiet corner of a park. Moreover, book is more likely to be afforded than computer by the destitute families, which are still account for a large percentage of Chinese people, especially in some remote poverty regions.

Furthermore, computer remains an obsession to student unresolved nowadays, which would also exist 20 years ago. To begin with, reading on computer might cause visual deterioration for students, and lead to more fatigue and other pathological symptoms. No parents wish their children would have an intimate relation to the glasses on their early age. Another severe problem worried the parents a lot is many students’ infatuation with computer. It’s not an anecdote to find many students sitting in front of the computer, staring the screen all the day, playing PC games or chatting online, all of which occupy most the time and energy from their study. What’s more, the key-board dependence results in the poor spelling ability of students. All these harmful impact would only highlight the goodness of book and make it the prior choice of students’ parents and school.

Finally, in China, book not only witnesses the long history, but also become an essential part of history. Time slip will not influent its crucial status to scholars. We students can feel its weight, touch it, smell it, sleep with it, and immerse in it. It is like a good friend companying you and me growing up. We can’t live without it. (这段可省，有感而发而已)
