题目:ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."
孩子融入社会的能力决定了社会的命运。遗憾的是,我们还不知道怎样培养孩子使他们对社会有益

提纲:
1.The circumstance of family influenced children firstly.
2. Then, the instruction of school has some problems on the socialization of children
3. Also, the social factor is worthy of being considered
4.Admittedly, the ways that family, school, and social use to raise children have some merits, but it can not be denied the fact that educational methods and conceptions are always changing with time

Children, as the hope of our future society, generate the traditions of forefathers and set a new mode of society with their abundant vitality and innovative spirit. So how to have children socialized is vital to determine the destiny of society. But unfortunately, we have not learned the appropriate methods.

The circumstance of family influenced children firstly. Parents usually make some mistakes even though their intension is helping their children. The primary one is that parents sometimes feel little hesitation about intervening in the child-rearing process through which children can learn to solve problems effectively. For example, a child who is trying to open a door with key are not skillful so that he can not open it quickly, and he seems enjoying this process instead of being upset. But when his parents see this situation, they who feel obliged to help their "poor" child come up and show him how to open a door without noticing they have made a mistake. So long as the children are shown exactly how to do something-whether it be opening a door, washing clothes or apologizing for a misdeed-they are less likely to figure out him how to accomplish such a task. . Furthermore, they are less likely to view life as a series of situation in which they have to do on their own. Additionally, parents not only fails to involve children in decision making if the problem is appropriate and asking them for suggestion, but also neglect cultivating children's sense of humor ,which can increase children’s' innovation.


Then, the instruction of school has some problems on the socialization of children. One is the formation of critical and independent thinking. In most schools in which teachers are treated as the unquestioned source of knowledge, student are expected to memorize the information which are presented and modeled for them and feed back them without any doubts and personal ideas. If the teacher makes a mistake in class, few children would notice that because they believe in the definite accuracy of content taught by teacher. Even there are some children who doubting  w
hat teacher said, they will be quickly influenced by the above idea and abandon their thinking. Another problem is that children are instructed to only to get high score in examination instead of acquiring available and useful knowledge. Although examination is an effective method to test whether children acquire the required knowledge and their learning process is right, it should be clearly recognized the examination will exert a pernicious influence on the children when it is regarded as an end in itself. One result is that children just know how to choose right subject but fail to apply knowledge to a real problem. For instance, they may know their multiplication tables, but they are unable to use them to solve story problems. the another one is their creative thinking might be limited because in order to get high score, children must use the most familiar methods practiced continually during the process of learning to have examination in which time is limited instead of a new method to which children may needs more time to get used .The correct attitude toward it should be treat an examination as something secondary, a by-product which the children will take in stride.

Also, the social factor is worthy of being considered. The society should provide some opportunities which could have children’s' learned knowledge applied to real life to preventing their knowledge and the social needs from being detached. On the other hand, the social should be create a favorable circumstance and an appropriate system of morality and ethics to help them involved in society quickly and have correct views toward the individual, the society and the world.


Admittedly, the ways that family, school, and social use to raise children have some merits, but it can not be denied the fact that educational methods and conceptions are always changing with time. In ancient
Greece, children in Athens must learn music but now children are less likely to be forced to learn it. So we need to research them and abandon some unsuitable things. In one word, we can better to raise children who can help bring about a better society through the comprehensive instruction of family, school and society and incessant consistency with the developmental tendency of social and human civilization.
