1 不赞同作者观点理由:
1) 偏远地区相比城市由于受外来文化冲击较小更容易保存传统文化
2)更应受政府财政支持来维持
3)政府应采取综合措施
Cultural traditions, such as customs, traditional festivals, and particular artistic productions, represent not only the mental life of people in certain country, but also the spirit one nation holds. Though cities, especially the capital of a nation, play a major role in transmitting the traditional culture, rural area, in fact, has been the center place, where cultural traditions are preserved and generated from Greeks to today.
First and foremost, owing to great influence exerted by globalization and information era, rural area, suffering less crash than big cities because of its geographic conditions, present more advantages in preserving cultural traditions. The best case to this point is Western tradition days, Christmas, which in eyes of more and more young people is even of importance as spring festival in East nowadays in big cities. Another case alike is Chinese traditional festival—Middle Autumn Day. As the convenient transportation and more modernization, people in big cities have numerous ways to obtain new cultural differences. And common sense tells me that human always favor to concentrating their focus on the new information, which induces them to forget the originals. So it is no need to fuss when we find the youth who spend large amount money on Valentine Day are ignorant of the date of Chinese love day. There are still many cases can support my view that cities are not the best place to preserve cultural tradition. Contrast, people in far regions still keep habits of spending traditional festivals, as they are not well informed the quick changes happened outside.
Furthermore, compared with major cities, rural area needs more financial support from government to maintain the traditional culture. Artists are mundane beings who need sustenance for living and objective things to foster and propagate their products. Rural area is often developed in the realms of economic, culture, and education. Only the artists in rural area receive many aids in various aspects, can they have ability and energy to tell others their specialties, such as Beijing Opera, xiangsheng. However, thanks to numerous ways to earn money, artists living in cities have little worry about their daily lives; even by using the big stage the city provides, some of them become millions, which pay little attention on innovation of traditional culture. What they do is harmful to the development of traditional culture.
Lastly, i cannot help doubting why the author assures that government must provide financial support to preserve cultural tradition? In my point of view, cultural tradition should be given support in various aspects, such as transmission, education and the whole environment of the nation. Financial support just one aspect, which can make the economy of an area develop fast. But we know that such area is not identical to the one, where cultural traditions are well-preserved. It is likely that the financial support is used in city construction or other ways. So I believe that just a government adopt a comprehensive policy, can cultural tradition be preserved well.
In sum, I totally disagree with the claim of the author. Admittedly, big cities, the centre of the nation, play a considerable part in culture transmitting. However, when it goes to culture preserving and generating, I should assert that rural areas have huge advantages, making themselves more suitable and reasonable to receive support of government, in preservation and generation of cultural tradition. |
