There is no doubt that it is the artist who gives society something value. However, when it comes to critic, a person who evaluates artistic works, it is unfair to ignore their contributions to the art. [color=Blue]虽然简洁，但是觉得可以再有吸引力一些
First and foremost, acknowledged it is not critic but artist who creates the value which is meaningful and eternal to the society. But what is real value of the art? It is the emotional, even visceral impact that art has on our senses, spirits, and souls at the moment we encounter it. In fact, art often comes with the history. Take the Yuanmingyuan for example. In its day, there are countless inestimable works of art which symbolize crystallization of human wisdom. Even though we call it The Ruins of Yuanmingyuan today, it also gives us a ever present past from its residual architectures, paintings, literature, ceramics and so on, which make us recognize the shocking history and reflect at the same time.（这样的表达觉得不太清楚，reflect history是么？） And the most important thing is that people could learn lessons from it to promote the society, which means art is the invisible ingredient to the improvement of the human civilization. In addition, the artist always associate his or her own life experience with the cognition of the world, society, love and beauty（这个和后面提到的内容好像联系不大，或者说逻辑关系并不那么明显，为什么联系自身经验就会升华我们的思想和精神？） while creating a unique work of art, no matter what type it is, will ameliorate the state of our spirit and affect our thinking involuntarily. For example, The Last Supper, one of Leonardo's most famous paintings, reflects the conflict in the real society. Through the delineation of the complicated characteristics among people, composition of different perspectives, Leonardo represented a spirit that chasing for the justice and truth which affects us positively, especially our spiritual level. All of these merits I mentioned above cannot be set by critic.

However, it does not mean that critic does noting to the art. Conversely, critic is an essential part in the artistic works. To begin with, arctic（critic?） could help us to appreciate a real kind of artistic works. As we all know, there are so many abstract works that seems to be less meaningful to us normal, at this point , we need critic, who is familiar with the particular works and has clairvoyance to art, to guide us to excavate the potential value of them. Take the Sun Flower, drawn by Van Gogh, for example. At first glance, the majority of people thought the mussy stuff was worthless, while after the critics' efforts to present the invisible merit which stood for a emotivity of the short life and a theme to encourage people to work hard, recognizing they were the best painting in the world. （句子很长，也没有什么不对，但是读起来有点费力，可能是我能力问题，但是还是觉得是不是表达不太简洁？）This is the critic’s contribution to the art that we could never neglect. In addition, the critic also plays a indispensible role in filtering the works of art. Because not all the artworks are really worth appreciating, the poor ones could be abandoned by the critic, which makes it efficient for us to enjoy the charm of the art.

Furthermore, it is the critics that provide some norms, aesthetic appreciations, and advices which make some essential frames （虽然明白了意思，但是表达不太严密的样子）for art. Though in some degree it might constraint the inspiration and creativity of the artists, whether to adopt these criterions totally according to the artists themselves. Nowadays, all sorts of artworks spring out, and it is necessary for critics to make some evaluations
in order to eliminate the inferior ones and abet the artists to invite something really conform to the social value. The artist, through works of art, provides an invaluable and unique insight of the culture of the time during his or her lifetime; the critic, via the comments, renders a mirror for the artist's contemporaries and for future generations to gaze into for sight and appreciation of art.

In sum, we should take both artist and critic into account when assessing artworks. Only by a appropriate relationship between them could make sense to the society, which means more and more art forms will have social wealth for ever.最后这段认为应该升华主题，单纯的总结觉得太干涩，我自己也是这种问题。
