With the developing of electronic technology, the traditional method that getting information and knowledge from books are challenged by the electronic production such as radio, television, computer and so on. But do you have the experience that you can not do anything besides standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus. At that time you can not watch television of surf the internet, the only way you can get the knowledge from reading a useful book. That is why the book is also the best means for people to get knowledge. The reasons for my views go as follows.

First of all, you can learn the knowledge you want to learn from various of books. Not like getting information from the television which is a passive way to get knowledge, getting information from reading is an active means. And I have to watch whatever the television programs are, always I can not get the information which I want. But you can get no matter what you want to know by reading a relative book. Take me for an instance, I am interested in dogs, but there is little programs that
is about dogs, so I can only get knowledge about dogs by reading.


In addition, the television must be put in the fix place, it means that you can not watch television everywhere. As students, the most of time they have to spend in classroom where has no televisions. Does it mean that they can not get extra knowledge except for required courses? Absolutely not, they can read whatever they want to read at break time.

Furthermore, one book is much inexpensive than one television, so we can get a book much easier than a television. For example, in china, many rural families do not have enough money to buy one television, so the members of those families can only get knowledge from reading.

Although I agree that there may be a couple of advantages of the television. For instance, it can get the current news more efficient by watching television. You can also relax your by watching the variety shows. But I feel that the advantages of reading are more obvious than watching television. Reading is the most active, convenient, inexpensive, means to get knowledge.
