Nowadays, people pay more and more attention to the knowledge and they would like to pay money on every approach of gaining knowledge. Some gets books for reading while some goes into the society to practice themselves, and so forth .But whether the depth of knowledge gained from books is much richer and broader than that learned from direct experience, it depends on how people look upon this question.

In the first place ,the society today is replete with various kinds of books for people to choose from or pick up .In bookshops or from the Internet do people gain numerous amounts of knowledge including arts ,science, technology ,medicine or politics ,and so on .What's more ,learning from books is the most direct means to acclimate the knowledge ,even without the need to go out of the door or travel a long distance to gain the knowledge .As the old saying goes, books are the steps and ladders which the humanity progresses .From books, people have understand the truth of the theory and thus made sound inventions and devotions to the world. But people must silt the knowledge which they gain from the books and set apart the truth from the faulty knowledge.

In addition, books do not need people to sum up the theory of knowledge by their owns .It is a convenient way to acquire the made-up knowledge .Our great forerunners and celebrities explored the domain where they were and piled up their own experience from the world, then adding up to the existed knowledge systems .Later, the knowledge which is regarded as indirect experience is handed down through generations to the individuals nowadays. We are able to digest the knowledge more easily and quickly. Which surprises us is that the e-books are invented for much more conveniently and portably carrying and reading, so people do not worry about the weight of the books as ones in old days. Moreover, knowledge is rich and broad for the reason that there are lots of means to supplement the existing knowledge systems. Aside from that, Internet is the resource full of large quantity of information for us to gain, containing different levels of knowledge systems .It is fairly a good way to acquire rich and broad knowledge by reading books.

Furthermore ,a person's complete knowledge system can not come into being without a direct experience by one's own .That is to say ,books are the theory while direct experience is the practice to make good use of our knowledge resources. By practicing the knowledge, they improve their ability to digest the truth and develop themselves better. Experience is a face-to-face approach to get in touch with the knowledge, as well as help people cultivate themselves to ones well-experienced .So individuals are supposed to be down-to-earth and gain knowledge from the direct experience when they are put into practice.

In summary, one individual should strike a good balance between the books and the direct experience. The knowledge can not form from either books or direct experience, so one should not only learn from the books, but also take the theory gained from the books into practice. After that, they are also ought to test the theories acquired from books and learn to determine the authenticity of them and then apply them into use.
