Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People are busy doing different things that they can do few things well. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.(03/03/07)
When it comes to a vital topic of people are busy doing different things, so they can do few things well, there are frequently diverse viewpoints among the general public in society. Apparently a majority of people thought this is partly sensible. According to them, individuals should focus on doing few things rather than doing different affairs, however, in my opinion, we have enough time and energy to do lots of affairs well provided we want.
To begin with, although we can concentrate on doing one thing, it would not be efficient if we are doing it all the day without stop. Similarly, no matter how delicious a kind of chocolate is, it will be disgusting if I eat it every day and night. Teachers have told us the importance of doing exercise or playing games after class, that's why I always play basketball or swim in the pool after a hard work, and then go back to continue my work afterward or turn to another subject. As a matter of fact, in this way, I can totally concentrate on my work, at the same time, I do enough practice for break taking and health keeping.
Secondly, report shows that there are connections among everything in the world, if we are knowledgable on one aspect, we would miss the mystery around us. As a matter of fact, if Newton hasn't studied math and other subjects except physics, his law of universal gravitation would not be discovered. Honestly, I enjoy the joy of doing various affairs, from which I can learn diverse skills and mysteries, then find the connection among them. For example, I am in my collage English debate team, all the debate materials I need is from my daily life. Lucky, my extensive experiences on landscape design, painting, doing sports, part-time job and even internship benefit me quite a lot.
Furthermore, there are so many multifaceted individuals in the world who are good at doing various things. No one can deny that the number of things we do can't decide our ability of doing them. Whether a job can be done well always depends on passion, talent, time, luck, etc. An adage says that we always have time, the point is whether you can divide your time properly. Please don't use busy doing too many things as the reason for your failure.
For the reasons presented above, I strongly disapprove the statement that because individuals are busy doing diverse things, they can do few things well. Actually, provided you can divide your time properly, the next multifaceted person will be you. |
