The author concludes that the life-size sculptures will decrease in value while the miniature statues will increase in value. The conclusion bases on the assumption that the mold-made life-size statues maybe inferior to the man-made miniature statue after the discovery of the molds. However, it suffers from problematic reasoning in at least three aspects.

To begin with, the assumption that the molds discovered were used for making life-size sculptures by Kalinese is groundless. It is highly possible that the heads and hands molds were used as frame of reference when craftsmen were sculpting life-size sculptures; or perhaps the molds discovered were brought here by non-Kalinese, like foreign explorers, or made by later generations for other purposes like toys or decorations. Since there is no evidence that the mold and sculptures are dovetailed or at least matched, it is not justified to claim the connection between the “mold” and sculpture.

Even assuming the life-sized sculpture was made by molds, it is implausible to argue those abstract and different styles of miniature and the little found of sculpture tools result from the existence of molds. It is highly possible that the second day after the author’s writing this argument; the molds for miniature sculptures are discovered by archeologists; Or perhaps the molds are discovered, yet the author are just not informed or the discovery itself is not revealed. In addition to this hasty assumption of the absence of the molds of miniature sculptures, the author commits another fallacious assumption. Molds could provide evidence for those related to them, not those irrelevant. If molds do not help produce, or rather, have no relationship with mini-sculptures, as the author claims, arguing that styles of mini-sculpture result from molds is fallacious. The abstract and different styles might entirely possibly result from the craftsmen’s creativity and skills in making abstract and different molds, which have not been discovered yet or destroyed by the craftsmen’s opponents or jealousy friends back to then. Without ruling out such possibilities, it is invalid to simply establish a cause-and-effect relationship.

Even all the above mentioned assumptions are all valid, the author fails to provide enough evidence in proving the prospect market for life-size sculptures become gloomy due to the discovery of molds, whereas the miniature sculptures will increase in value. Values of antiques are not only dependent on how they were made; it is about passage of time so long ago, about the civilization of humankind so diversified. To mold a sculpture is inferior to man-made? For what reasons? What about their value of the heritage-upholding, of the times-witnessing, of the diversification demonstrating? The author fails to offer the evidence for his allegation of the inferiority in molding life-sized statues to miniature sculptures.

To sum up, it is unconvincing for the author to claim that the expecting situation of an increasing value of the miniature and the reversed market for life-sized unless the author offers adequate and detailed information in time concerning the mold’s real usage and the miniature sculptures’ real making-method.
