With the development of the science and technology, more elements have been introduced into the human affairs and thereby make things become much more intricate than ever before. Nowadays, it become familiar that to make things as simple as possible is the first step for solving most problems.

There are several reasons that make things shift from simple to complicated. First, it is relatively easier to pick out the facial differences between things than to dug out the underlying similarities. Second, mainstream people tend to complicate things or matters, so that the outsiders may not be able to understand what they are doing. Consequently, they can safely protect their own job securities or professional prestige. Third, the knowledge is increasing as human being never stop exploring the world. That is why a lot of subjects which have a history of more than hundreds of years now become a package of subjects that are extremely huge and have plenty of branches after a long period.

While, things, with its ever growing complexity, demonstrate a new tendency, more and more persons began to try their efforts to simplify most of the matters they face. To make things simple means to have profound understanding of the whole matter, to discriminate between essence and peripherals, and ultimately to refine the big and complex body of knowledge into principles.

Because humans naturally tend to make things big and complex, it arguably requires more effort and courage to move in the opposite direction. Most scientists usually only focus on one or few field of their research. Although things have been changing more and more complicated, the best scientists are always those who continue simplifying the tangled and abstruse knowledge. And none of the well-sold popular science reading materials was ever written by recondite scientific language.

In the final analysis, making things simple - or keeping them that way - takes a brand of effort born of reflection and restraint rather than sheer exertion, and a courageous character and conviction rather than unbridled ambition.

可能字数太少的缘故，这篇文章并没有从深入探讨将事情简单化和复杂化里面所蕴含的更本质的东西，而只是停留在字面上的分析，缺乏说服力，估计是时间不够的缘故吧。come on!

是啊是啊～根本就没怎么展开，发之前我犹豫了好久...捂脸...ｍ（＿　＿）ｍ
1.第一个确实用for，因为后面接的是doing～
2.from..to..不一定要接名词哦，比如有一首英文歌就叫《From Good To Bad To Worse To Gone》
3.First, it is relatively easier to pick out the facial differences between things than to dig out the underlying similarities. 这句话是一个对比关系，翻译过来是：寻找事物表面的不同要比发掘事物内在的联系要相对容易许多。因为没有继续展开，意思可能没太表达清楚。
“寻找不同”即意味着增加内容，从而导致复杂化，“发掘联系”意味着合并两者的共性，从而导致简单化。比如后面提到的那个学科分支越来越多的例子，放到这里就可以理解为“划分出新的学科很容易，但合并有联系的学科很困难”。
唉..思维大概是太跳跃了..
