Whether(去掉) should education be specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student? It's really a question. I, however, do not agree with the author's point. In my point of view, education includes many respects, which can not(cannot) be described by only the needs of students. Thus, to meet the students' needs is necessary but not the overall destination in education.
First and foremost, it is a necessity to relate(感觉用connect更合适) education with the society. As we all know, the goal of education is to make our society progress more efficiently. Students come to school and receive education, and finally they will come to the society and devote their efforts to the construction of the society. Especially, as the technology is developing, the education a person received draws more and more attention by the whole society. Thus, education is closely related to the society. Due to such relationship, our education should be designed to meet the demand of the society. For example, currently, the IT industry in China has an urgent demand for computer engineers. With this trend, many universities here are devoting more efforts on the building of the education of computer science and technology, in order to provide more students or experts on computer related(computer-related) works, such as software engineering. (这例子赞啊,同为CS居然身边的例子)
Secondly, the education should also consider the conditions of the teachers. I have to say that teachers are the main subjects in the teaching and learning procedures. Teachers are obviously expert at some certain areas, in which they can give much more support to the students. That is to say, we should place more stress to take full use of the teachers' ability. There is nobody who knows everything, including the teachers. For instance, if a math teacher is required to teach literatures, the result can be definitely not so effective as a teacher engaging in literature. Furthermore, education, in some measure, is not only giving the students some knowledge, but also make them have a deep learning on some certain area, which provides some probabilities for them to get a historical breakthrough on the area. Therefore, with this arduous task, it is a necessity for teachers to do teaching in the subjects or courses which they are majored in.
Last but not the(去掉) least, I have to concede that education should be designed to meet the needs of students as well. Same as teachers, students are the other subjects in the learning process, which is educated to dominate the future of our society. Thus, the students' interests should be satisfied in education. As an old saying goes, "Interest is the best teacher." It's telling us that students can be more effective in learning if they are engaging in the problems or subjects that quietly attract their interests. On the contrary, if they are not interested in the courses, will they study hard without any other benefit? No, they dislike the courses, they may be tired of what the teachers say, and then they will spend not much time on the study of the courses. They will finally fail in the career they are now going on. In short, to make our education more effective, the procedure of education should be designed to satisfy the students' needs and interests.
To sum it up, education is a procedure that contains almost three aspects: society, teachers, and students. None of the 3 subjects can be neglected. Thus, to make our education more effective and more interesting, the education should meet the needs of society, satisfy the specialty of the teachers and satisfy the interests of the students. That's exactly the true education.
