The speaker states that one should take any means to attain a goal that he or she thinks it is worthy. In my view, it is open to doubt on the justification of taking any means. Also, as the definition of "worthy" may varies with different people, it is hard to justify if it is right to attain such a “worthy”goal.

"Worthy" means "having worth or value", different people always have different views on the word "worth". The justification of the pursuit of the goal is based on the meaning of "worth". When the worth is helpful to other people and legal, it is justifiable to pursue such a worthy goal,such as a politician takes the promoting of the level of life of his people as the meaning of worth. However, if it is a politician such as Hitler who takes invading other countries to satisfy his own political purpose, the meaning of "worth" is harmful and illegal. So when we want to discuss if it is worthy to attain a goal, we should give the word "worth" a definition. In this issue, I take "worth" as something does no harm to other people and legal.

It is justifiable to make every to pursue a goal which is legal and not harmful. In today's world, it is the sprit of persistence that makes people keep working to achieve their goal. Many scientist make their effort to do researches and make progresses to human technology. For exmaple, Nobel, someone who nearly died in a explosion of his laboratory, made his every effort to invent a effective detonator and nearly forfeited his own life. Despite scientists, many people in all kinds of professions make their effort to achieve a goal to make the world a better one. It is Nelson Mandela who devote his life to the liberation of black people in South Africa, he did not change his mind even after a imprisonment of 27 years. Without his persistence, it is probable that the status of black people in South Africa will not be improved.

Although, making efforts to achieve a worthy goal is justifiable, taking any means to achieve a worthy goal may not be justifiable. It is dangerous for individuals, companies and nations to achieve a goal with any means. If a person slanders his or her colleague to get a promotion, it is unjustifiable; if a company steals commercial secrets to beat its competitors, it is despicable; if a nation invades other countries to pillage natural resources, it is flagitious. Taking Richard Nixon, the former president of America, as an example. He tried to steal information of his competitor in the election, which made him to be the first president who resigned. Also the Watergate Scandal will be a blot forever in American history.
So it is important to take "reasonable" means to seek one's goal other than take "any" means especially the ones illegal.

As a conclusion, after making an interpretation of "something legal and not harmful" of the word "worth", I give a point that it is justifiable to obtain a worthy goal by reasonable means other than a partial view that the statement above presents.
