With the rapid decrease of wilderness areas in the world, more attention has been paid on wilderness areas preservation. In this very issue, the speaker asserts that wilderness areas even which are extremely remote and accessible to only a few people should be preserved in their natural state by the government. I totally agree with this assertion for the reasons below.

Firstly, as we see nowadays, preservation of wilderness areas have been one of the most important problems we human beings confront. According an authoritative research, wildness areas disappear in a rapid speed. Consider that a large area of rain forests in the world  have been cut down, and that more than 1000 kinds of animals are extinct of the world each year, and the case might be even worse in the foreseeable future. In my view, this situation might be consequence of two main causes. The one is that with the rapid development of scientific technology, our environments seem so weak compared to the destructive power of advanced instruments made by humans. As a result, some technologies make it possible to destroy a large area of wilderness in a short time. The other reason is that the method of protecting environment is undermining, instead a benefit-aimed method is dominating. Many individuals, corporations and factories would like to satisfy their own benefits even at the expense of eliminating wilderness areas. Therefore, it is necessary and pressing for the governments to take some active action to save our environments, especially the wildness areas..

However, some persons would argue that there are so many pressing social problems we must firstly deal with, like unemployment, economy, and so forth, that no more attention can be paid on the preservation of wilderness areas by the governments. Yet in my opinion, this point is not farseeing. Preserving wilderness areas in their natural state would be beneficial to human beings in a long-term run. First, wilderness areas in a natural state would preserve many precious resources for our human beings. For instance, these areas are considered to be a good storage of natural genes for human researches. Furthermore, to take advantage of the natural resource, people there could develop tourism which might bring them a lot of job openings and great profits. Consequently, some social problems including unemployment and poverty can be well solved in this way. Accordingly, preserving wilderness areas in their natural state would benefit us human beings in a long-term development.

Another problem the government must emphasize is how to in a effective way preserve the wildness areas in a natural state. I think there are two factors we must account for. First, the significance to preserve wildness areas in a natural state must be indoctrinated to every person. Only when people recognize that wildness areas are treasures for them, will they try their best to protect them. Moreover, some active acts are needed to be carried out especially for the areas accessible to a large number of persons. It is only through stringent acts that people can be effectively prevented from doing any harm to the wilderness. In a word, I firmly recommend to the government that it is necessary to take affirmative measures like above right now.

In sum, since the wilderness areas in a natural state would benefit us human beings not only because they are helpful for us to know about the nature but also because they would help to settle some social problems, the government should take immediate and effective measures to preserve them in a nature state whether they are remote or
