The writer claimed that it is an illusion to admit those problems we faced are more complex and challenging than before. With the accumulation of knowledge, we can be wise enough to find the truth that those questions today are just as hard as they used to be. However, I have to say, the writer confused the meaning of "complex" and "complex". In my view, with increased knowledge and experience, the problems we faced today are more complex and hard to solve than before. However, every question are as challenging as past for the attempter. My reasons are as follows:

Generally, it is the true fact that the unsolved question shows the limitation of human intelligence. And anyone who attempt for an answer has to try every possible method for solution. Those easy ones might be settled in days, or even seconds. But there are some tough task left for centuries. Complex calculation, which will cost even days and numerous papers for a result in past can be settled in seconds with the help of computer. With time passing by, the simple questions were solved; tough ones were deal by new technical skills; only the most difficult questions left till today. We try every method for the unsolved and new solutions are promoted too. Those questions are surely more complex than before as the simple ones are settled. Time is the checker, only the complex ones are left for us. The problems like famine or disaster request cooperative project to settle as the questions themselves content numerous uncertain factors that effect. People won't fear the “black death” anymore with the foundation of preventing medicine and public health system. However, the flu infection remains to be a complex problem today as the variable virus can escape from immune system and resist the used drugs. People's perspective life span has greatly last, but how to get rid of aging remain to be a problem. All in all, it is more complex that the problems remained.     

However, problem is the challenging gift for those who attempt a way out. The content carried by the challenge won't change with knowledge increasing. It is not only a mark for the limitation of human intelligence. The sprite for solving these questions also shows the courage of those attempts. We can enjoy great pleasure when finding some new solution. And in mystery fields, our curiosity is fed by researching and new discoveries subsequently. The challenging problems with the great satisfy when your solution is admitted and used by others. There is the difference between easy and tough questions, but the pleasure they carried to us remain the same. In front of  thinking, the touch in the beauty of ponder is the same between a mathematician proving a famous and a little kid finished his arithmetic homework.. It is the same challenge when the cave men first used the fire in cooking as the current people try to use atomic power in energy resource.
