TOPIC: ISSUE29 - "Public figures such as actors, politicians, and athletes should expect people to be interested in their private lives. When they seek a public role, they should expect that they will lose at least some of their privacy."

I fundamentally agree with the speaker's statement: since they have chosen what they do, public figures should expect that they will be interested in their private lives and therefore, they will lose at least some of their privacy.

The chief reason for my agreement is that, people are born with curiosity and they seek something different and interesting by nature. What the public figures do happen to cater to the appetite of the public. Take actors for example, all too often, we can see some boys and girls crazy about a movie star. They are not only interested in the actor's movies, but inclined to search more information about the private life of the actor, such as the habit of him, what he likes to eat, and even which kind of girl he likes. This kind of phenomenon is widely spreading all over the world.

Another reason why I generally agree with statement is that inevitably some people look for someone as their idol, and in all likelihood, they focus on a public figure whose performance is excellent to be honored. Lately, through watching a TV program, I learned about a lady who regards Hao Haidong, a famous Chinese football player, as her idol. She watches every game Hao plays and sends cards and letters to Hao regularly. What impresses me most is that she even meets his idol once every year to communicate with Hao,  exchanging some thoughts about everyday life. She told the audience that Hao has become an impetus for her to move on in her life. And Hao also expressed his gratitude to her because her care continuously encouraged him to strive hard to make greater progress. In this case, the lady's attention on the athlete has intervened in his private life, but Hao accepted it and considered it as an inspiration.

In addition, the mass media always try to bring the private lives of famous people into public to maximize the profits of shareholders. Since they know well about what the public demands, they will make their best to satisfy their needs. From entertainment information to politics scandal, the mass media are ready to discover it as soon as possible and attract the public attention promptly. As a result, no matter whether they like or not, the public figures will have to accept the fact that they are the cynosure. Both their works and private lives will be concerned by the masses.

However, although intense public scrutiny of the private lives is unavoidable, the public figures should try to protect their family members and friends from becoming the victims of the mass media. After all, other people are innocent, even if they have a relationship with a public figure. They should be given the rights to live their lives in a way they like.

In conclusion, people should consider all the positive and negative aspects before they deciding to become a public figure who would inevitably become the focus of the masses. Also, they should accept that they will necessarily lose some of their private. In spite of these, they still ought to realize it is their responsibility to protect people around them from being harmed by too much attention from the public.

Lately, through watching [可以不要] a TV program, I learned about a lady who regards Hao Haidong, a famous Chinese football player, as her idol.

你的主体我总结一下;
