Argument 9
In this argument, the arguer concludes thatterminated students evaluation of professors Omega Universitystudents would enable its graduates to secure better jobs. In addition, if theevaluation be stopped, Omega University students wouldhave a better job opportunity. This argument suffers from several criticalfallacies.
The major problem with this argument isthat attribute a large problem to a small quality. The cause of failed in jobmarket has a great deal of reasons. First, their major must have a great needin the market. Second, the courses they took are new and useful. Third, theywork hard to acquire more knowledge about their major. And the most importantis the knowledge they learned could ambidextrous used in their daily work. Theonly aspect that evaluated professors could affect the job opportunity is theknowledge they acquired is a little inflated, that is really not the main causation.To say the least, even if it inflated a lot, all students inflated are equal tonone of them inflated, what they need is not the absolute mark, but thecomparison. That comparison cannot change in the same college, could be reducedamong the different college.
Another flaw that weakens this argument isto compare Omega Universityto Alpha University means the evaluation shouldbe terminated. Two different universities have their own advantage major andthe market needs different in different years. You cannot compare Omega University’spoor major to Alpha University’s dominantmajor or compare the two universities. So, said AlphaUniversity better than Omega Universityis oversimplified. And that means the causation is more oversimplified.
In addition, the arguer ignores severalother factors that might undermine the argument. Such as the student levelsamong different years, the change of professors, and the comparison ofdifferent times, and so on.
In conclusion, the arguer fails toattribute less job opportunities to evaluation professors. To strengthen theargument, the arguer would have to provide evidence that the real reason thatleads the university down.
