狠拍狠拍啊。。

Almost all scholars and researchers have to choose between individual interests and social responsibility difficultly. As I concerned, the author's assertion is qualified grounded for the following reasons.

Focusing on what attract scholars and researchers' interests most will most probably lead to consequences of better achievements and prosperous creations. As doing things out of interests is human nature, the more one is willing to do, the more efficiently. Therefore it is more likely one would success in the area he is devoting to. Take Bill Gates as a typical instance. What makes him drop out of the No.1 university of the world willingly? It is most because of interests. And then with which he finally design those wonderful operating systems and become the richest man in the world. It is interests that not only made him succeed, but also let his success make great contribution to our society for Microsoft take the leader in the software industry with its successful operating systems which make almost everyone can use computer conveniently.

In addition, people, in some degree, tend to love to do what they excel instinctively; therefore, in this way, the society can make the most of each person’s intelligence. It is human beings’ nature to gain the sense of success in his or her life, hence it is more likely that people would become more interested in what they always attain excellent achievements. So no doubt we find out that one’s favorite is probably one’s strong suit. If everyone can choose the area which he or she is best in and thus make almost the biggest difference in the large society according to one’s individual interests, I wonder what else the society look forward and what better way the society can provide to determine who should do what appropriately.

Moreover, it is out of the capacity of scholars and researchers to estimate how big difference their study may make to the large society, since the practices of most of the scientific discovery remain unknown at first. As the discovery of the exertion of the nuclear energy is the case. When Einstein researched the nuclear passionately, he would never predict the tragedy that happened in Japan, let alone the precedent of the study of atom, such as Thomas and Rutherford. When scientists search the nature and try to find a proper solution to those puzzles, they may propose an hypothesis which later may be proved quite practical, or they may discovery a law of nature which may be largely used in industry. However what will happen and how people would apply their theory in the following years, even age, cannot be precisely foreseen.

Nevertheless, as scholars and researchers represent the elite of our society, and their actions and thoughts largely determine the speed of evolution of human beings and direction of the development of society, it is dangerous that some of the scholars totally lack of social responsibility. What if the interest of one scholar is virus weapons? When the main direction turns to those areas, I am quite concerned about the security of our society. Not to say that the obligation of solving the serious and exigent problems, such as cancer rely on them.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely conclude that scholars and researchers must be given enough freedom to pursue their interests, at the same time not ignoring their encumbering responsibility for the society.

TOPIC: ISSUE40 - "Scholars andresearchers should not be concerned with whether their work makes acontribution to the larger society. It is more important that they pursue theirindividual interests, however unusual or idiosyncratic those interests may seem."

Almost allscholars and researchers have to choose between individual interests and socialresponsibility difficultly. As I concerned, the author's assertion is qualifiedgrounded for the following reasons.

Focusing on what attract scholars and researchers' interests most will mostprobably lead to consequences(好像是贬义的) of better achievements and prosperous creations. As doing thingsout of interests is human nature, the more one is willing to do, the moreefficientlyhe dose it. Therefore it is morelikely one would success in the area he is devoting to. (the field in which he is enthusiastic) Take Bill Gates as atypical instance(单独成句?). What makes him drop out of the No.1 (worldfamous)university of the world willinglydeliberately? It is most (largely) because of interests. And then with which hefinally design those wonderful operating systems and become the richest man inthe world.and好像太多了) It is intereststhat not only made him succeed, but also let his success make greatcontribution to our society for for好像不能接从句)Microsoft take the leader in the software industry with itssuccessful operating systems which make almost everyone can use computerconveniently.

In addition, people, in some degree, tend to love to do what they excel instinctively; therefore, in this way, thesociety can make the most of each person’s intelligence. It is human beings’nature to gain the sense of success in his or her life, hence it is more likelythat people would become more interested in what they always attain excellentachievements. So no doubt we find out that one’sfavorite is probably one’s strong suit. If everyone can choose the area whichhe or she is best in and thus make almost the biggest difference in the largesociety according to one’s individual interests, I wonder what else the societylook forward and what better way the society can provide to determine whoshould do what appropriately.(没看懂)

Moreover, it is out of the capacity of scholars and researchers to estimate howbig difference their study may make to the large society, since the practicesof most of the scientific discovery remain unknown at first. As the discoveryof the exertion of the nuclear energy is the case. When Einstein researched thenuclear passionately, he would never predict the tragedy that happened in Japan, letalone the precedent of the study of atom, such as Thomas and Rutherford. Whenscientists search the nature and try to find a proper solution to thosepuzzles, they may propose an hypothesis which later may be proved quitepractical, or they may discovery a law of nature which may be largely used inindustry. However what will happen and how people would apply their theory inthe following years, even age, cannot be precisely foreseen.

Nevertheless, as scholars and researchers represent the elite of our society, and their actions and thoughts largely determine the speed of evolution ofhuman beings and direction of the development of society,(断开吧) it is dangerous thatsome of the scholars totally lack of social responsibility. What if theinterest of one scholar is virus weapons? When the main direction turns tothose areas, I am quite concerned about the security of our society. Not to saylet alonethat the obligation of solving the serious and exigent(pressing) problems, such as cancer rely on them.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely conclude that scholars andresearchers must be given enough freedom to pursue their interests, at the sametime not ignoring their encumbering(拖累了社会责任?) responsibility for the society.

没有把握的用法可以自己先google一下,如果没有老外的文章是这么用的,就可能有问题。

(过去式?)It is interests that not only made him succeed, but also let his success make great contribution to our society for Microsoft take the leader(a dominant position) in the software industry with its successful operating systems which make almost everyone can use computer conveniently.(这个长句的表达感觉不是很地道而且太长了看起来也累)
(呃, 我个人觉得most这个词最好不要多用)

(这段和上一段意思差不多啊~感觉并没有从另外的角度说明)
