Do all nations should help to built up a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems? The author claims so and I agree with the author fundamentally. However, neither nations should support to develop a global university to solve persistent social problems, not the purpose of a global university is to
help in solving the world's most persistent social problems.

Admittedly, as global mobility, the world seems much smaller than before and nations influence each other since the connection between nations is more frequent than before. Thus, the constant of one society is affected by other nations and without experts in global affairs; some nations will find it difficult to solve its own social problems, which are the common problems among almost every nation. As the emergence of global pollution and greenhouse effect aptly illustrate, none of these nations could solve these problems by themselves. In this sense, we need experts in global affairs to help in solving such problems involving all nations, which is the reason why should all nations need to support the development of a global university to tech students in solving the world's most persistent problems.  

However, to set up a global university is a good way to help solve world's most persistent social problems, but we could solve these problems by other ways such as to remove language barriers. As we all known that language barriers impede cross-culture communication, which in turn cause misunderstand, a certain distrust and as a result, discord and wars--the worst and most persistent social problems among nations. Thus, as long as all nations devote themselves in removing language barriers and try to understand cultures that distinct from their, the world's most persistent social problems will be solved more efficiently.

Besides, one of the purpose to support a global university is to solve world's social problems, but a global university more focuses on the understanding of cross-culture and communication with each other. The most important thing is not to solve problems but to prevent the appearance of problems. We cannot solve all social problems in the world but we could diminish them by ways--prevent new problems. Therefore, the major purpose of building a global university is not to tech students solve problems but help them understand each other and diminish misunderstanding.

In sum, a global university should be supported by all nations because it will breed students in processing the most world's persistent social problems. However, world's social problems could be solved only in one way but more efficient solved by the removing of language barriers and more understanding of other culture and society and thus the major purpose of set up a global university is not to help solve problems but to prevent coming new ones.
