你同不同意说印刷书在二十年后将不复存在...(2007.8.4)

Since the printing invented, printed books have been accompanied with human beings for many centuries. Books have been regarded as the valuable forture for human beings. Some people may reckon that the printed books will vanish in next twenty years. But, I believe that printed books will still exist in next two decades and even much further future. My arguments are listed as follows.

On one hand, books are still considered as the significant channal for people to gain knowledge. There are still a large proportion of people love reading books. Especially, they are fond of reading the printed books. People can obtain a great number of knowledge from books, which covers a variety of domains, and the printed books are readily available everywhere. There are still a myriad of people are very willing to go to library for learning knowledge or searching information. In libraries, we can learn nearly everything only if we have already acquired basic reading skills, astromony, history, geography, geometry, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, botony, philosophy, and so on. Books seem to have almost no limitation of realms. In public library, we can vitually experience everywhere through books, and with no expense at all.

On the other hand, books are still deemed as "the mental food" for human beings. Particularly, even in the epoch when we can get information from the Internet, there are also a large number of people tending to read the printed books. They have an enjoyment of the feeling when holding a book in their hands and books can be seen as their sincere friends in their life. As the famous sayings goes well, "when you hold and read a book, you are talking with a great figure." By reading, people can be provided with the mental nutrition from books and then are influenced by them. For esample, many of my friends and all like reading printed books. We always get together to discuss the ideas about a book, after reading through a book. It can be said that reading books has been an indispensable part in our lives, and becomes a good habit for us.

Admittedly, with the computer and the Internet, our reading habit has changed greatly. More and more are inclined to read books via the Internet or portable electronic devices. However, as I said above, the role of book can be irreplaceable in people's life.

                        成本低廉 而且携带方便
                        虽然新兴的阅读方式先进快捷，但是印刷书作为一种传统阅读方式还是为更多的人接受和使用，特别是在不发达的地区。
