What is the meaning of intellect? Doessociety really not place enough emphasis on the intellect? In my point of view,I cannot share this claim. As the matter of fact, the whole society places acareful concern about the intellect.

First of all, the meaning of intellect is anumbrella term used to describe a property of the mind that encompasses manyrelated abilities, such as the capabilities to reason, to plan, to solveproblems, to think abstractly. In fact, the society recognize that theintellect, perhaps, the most significant quality which a person should hold. Inaddition, a traditional opinion coming from the society shows a correlationbetween the success and the intellect: the higher intellect a person process,the more successful he/she will be. Thus, during a period of gestation, a lotof gravitas adopted a series of restrictions, such as listening to the music,watching logic diagrams, reading original edition fiction of foreign languageand the like, in order to stimulate the development of babe’s intellect. Afterbabies come into the world, a suit of scientific and systematized education hasbeen designed for them. Before all infants grow up, substantial knowledge wouldbe learned by them, at the same time, their intellect, surely, developed at topspeed.

However, neither parents nor other membersin the society, pay too much attention to the importance of the intellect,while another factor, psychology, which acts the same effect on the intellect,is somehow neglected.

Actually, the main element leading to thesuccess contains the intellect, the persistence, the luck, the courage and awell mind. A well mind helps a person to form a positive outlook on life: becalmed to the fail, be modest to the success and a buoyant to the tension.Unfortunately, contrast with logic or other kinds of intellect education, fewerpsychological courses are design for children. Lacking a complete guidance,children inevitably disturb by mental problems and hence, they will be far awayfrom the success. A statistic shows that hundreds of thousands people suicideevery year because mental diseases attack them and they cannot be healed forneglecting the importance of the psychology education. Moreover, some people,who got seriously mental disease and own high intellect, are keen on committingcrimes and homicides so that the stability and the safe of the society areunavoidably destroyed. Why does a well educated and high intellect person turn intoa phenomena? Overlooking the significance of the psychological education is oneof the factors.

Luckily, the society have recognized theimportance of psychological education, educators began to set down specializedmentality courses for children, meanwhile, adults pay more attention to themental problems about themselves. According to such evidences, I am sure thatboth intellect and mentality will be placed same enough emphasis on by thesociety.
