I strongly support the view of the arguer, that the absence of choice is a circumstance that is very, very rare. Our experiences in everyday life as well as the history have both convinced us that, thing always has more than one aspects if one looks into it in different ways, thus the choices exists. However, why someone occasionally find himself been driven to the last ditch? The biggest obstacle might be set by one’s own opinion.
First, our world is consisted of numerous phenomena要用复数, which provide us with all kinds of possibilities, so that we will never get into such a corner without any alternations at all. However, sometimes the crucial problem does not lie in the scarcity of choices, but in that how to make up one’s decision. From the daily trifles such as to choose the main dish of a dinner, to the most important events including the deciding of one's career, people always find themselves bogged down by countless potentials, not the absence of choices.
Admittedly, in some cases one cannot choose freely due to the restriction set by his situations or the other people. What’s more, one may found many things have been decided before they become aware of them. For example, all of us have to face the inevitable fact that, our family, race and social status must be decided by other ones when we come to this world. Even when we have grown up and developed our own comprehension of this world, we might find ourselves still confined by this or that objective matters. It's the same with those rulers who hold great power in their hands, as they have to make choices based on the need and advantages of the public, of the society, and must choose within an acceptable extent. But after all, this doesn't indicate the absolutely absence of choices.
If the choices do exist, why we always see people bothered by impasses, who complaining that they have no choice but to do something unwillingly? In my opinion, their main problem lies in the way they face the problem. Maybe the circumstance has provided them with a different direction, but they simply pass them by and stick to the vary goal they're pursuing. Without a right attitude, a person might believe in the so-called destiny and lose oneself. To illustrate this point, the first person comes into my mind is Helen Keller, a famous writer as well as inspiring educator in the history of America. Both her hearing and sight were lost since her recovery from an acute fever at the early age. In other people's eyes, the world left no choices to her but dark and silent, and her attempt to read and write was also considered as an illusion. But she finally achieved her goal, since she treated the misfortune optimistically and find chance for herself. If the choices do exist",才有根据.
To sum up, life is fair and won’t let anyone of us drop into a entirely hopeless situation. In fact, choices lie in every step we take, though sometimes we need to find them ourselves, or even create them. As an old saying goes: nothing is impossible. I believe everyone can choose the best way for himself.
