52"Education encourages students to question and criticize, and therefore does little to promote social harmony."
Position:
Completely disagree.
教育也教会学生give the precedence out of courtesy .
3. concession。

Does education do little to promote social harmony because it improves students’ skeptic and critic thinking? The speaker claims so, and I tend to disagree. Education, one of the key words in modern society, not only gives students skeptic and critic thinking, but also enhances their sense of co-operating and courtesy.
Firstly, it is true that education encourages student to question and criticize, but it also trains them to learn the significance of cooperation. For example, there are many experiments to do in Chemistry lessons, and sometimes it is impossible to complete it for one student alone. In one organic synthesizing experiment, it needs to compound two products simultaneously to prepare for the next step. Hence, two students are needed to cooperate and finish the experiment. Without cooperation, there is no chance for them to complete this work. There are far more examples that could illuminate that education teaches students the sense of the importance of teamwork other than critics and skeptics. No matter in humanities or sciences, in arts or mathematics, the sense of cooperation is always in the main spirit of education. Moreover, as well as cooperation, education fosters the ethos of understanding and tolerating others, too. For instance, one traditional Chinese lesson teaches students about a smart child named Kong Rung who had became a most famous scholar in his period of time eventually. The lesson mentions that once upon a time when young Kong Rung was seven, his mother asked him to choose one pear from a dish full of pears in different sizes and colors, and he chose the smallest one. As his mother was thinking he is the youngest child and should have chosen the bigger one, she asked him why. And the reason he gave his mother was that since he was the youngest, it was his duty to leave the bigger ones to his elder brothers. Every Chinese student has learned the lesson and each of them is imparted the spirit which is to give precedence out of courtesy. And it is a spirit which is of extreme significance in promoting the social harmony. In short, education does not just augment the students’ sense of skepticism and criticism, it also teaches students to learn about the importance of cooperation and courtesy, hence, education does not do little to social harmony but bolsters it.
Secondly, even though education mainly encourages students question and criticize, it is not the inevitable result that the social harmony would be harmed that education will surely bring about. The social harmony could not be sabotaged by questioning and criticizing but by the evil minds and extremely expanded ambitions. The reason why Hitler exerted such a destructive influence on the social harmony is not his skepticism and criticism but his ambition to dominate the whole world; on the contrary, a myriad of great philosophers and scientists who have made numerous donations and efforts to the social harmony are good at questioning and criticizing. Without questioning and criticizing the predecessors’ conclusions, Aristotle would never be the greatest thinker in more than ten thousand of years but just an ordinary person with a little cleverness. In one word, even if education indeed augments the students’ skepticism and criticism, we can not draw the conclusion so fast that it does little to social harmony. On the contrary, skepticism and criticism do not do harm to social harmony as the evil minds do.
In conclusion, except for questioning and criticizing, education teaches students far more things such as cooperation and courtesy, and these spirits indeed augment the social harmonyindeed Even though education gives the students senses of skepticism and criticism, we can not conclude that it does little to social harmony, and sometimes it is just the skepticism and criticism boost the social harmony but not other senses.
