Playing computer games is a waste of time for children. Do you agree or disagree?


According to the statement,there is no benift for children to play computer games,and it just wastes their time.I agree that playing computer games excessively makes students spend less time on studying and sometimes cannot concenturate on their work.However,there are some bright aspects of playing computer games.I based my opinion on following reasons.

First of all,playing computer games is just one of methods for entertainment,like watching TV,listening to the music,playing cards with friends and so forth.It helps us to relieve and relax the pressure from the work and study and adds some fun to our daily life.Since no one regards watching TV show or listening CDs as an activity of wasting time,we cannot concludes that playing computer games is such a useless behavior.To some one,it is an efficient way to reduce stress.

Secondly, in some cases,computer games help to develop intelligence and imagination of children.Some games require the children to firgue out the problem maybe related to math or science or physics and some games tests the children’s IQ.Moreover,playing computer games can be motivation of children to develop future career.It widens the range of job opportunity,children who have great interests in the games may choose the game designer as their career or dream of owning a game company in future.My friend of mine,for example,who are really fond of playing computer games,chose the computer science as his major.Now he has some acheivement on his work and get closer to his dream of designing his own games.

To sum, considering the positive influence brought by it and the common features as an amusement , I disagree with the statement that playing computer only has negative effect on children.
