TOPIC: ISSUE153 -"Students should bring a certain skepticism towhatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead ofaccepting it passively."


It is reasonable for students to bring acertain skepticism to what they study, however, if the skepticisms are errant,they will lose the benefits and rise problems. As a student, we are supposed totell ourselves that we should learn with a skepticism.  What is more, the position of learn is moreessential than skeptical.
    Firstly, it is significant to study with askepticism which can reflect that we are thinking while we are studying andhave our own opinion. Just accept the knowledge passively without thinking; wewill never apply it flexibly. What else, as for the teacher, they encouragestudents to communicate with them so that they can find the students' problemsin understanding. Most universities in America have a kind of lessons thatcalled seminar which are very popular. It is an example that students havequestions in studying and discuss them with others is good to the students aswell as teachers. If everyone studies without asking, the theory that the earthis the center of the universe will still be believedfirmly at present.
    Nevertheless, students do not have to bringa skepticism to whatever they study. Study is not a debate, students are goodto bring skeptic with the knowledge, however, are asked to know how to studyfirst. Anyone of the students was cultivated from a child who did not knowanything. There are things which do not have reasons. Why does English have 26letters? Why do people look different from monkeys? We cannot solve thatcomplicated questions but we know that only by using the 26 English letters canwe study further and question the questions we have. If we cannot catch thesignificant core of study but to question whatever we study, we will not make aprogress. Therefore, all the things we are supposed to do are to ask thequestions which deserve to be asked.
    For that reason, it is also a challenge forthe students to combine the study and the skepticalspirit in a suitable way. By thinking about the questions critically but not nitpickand taking a target that study for obtaining more knowledge, we can treat theskeptic properly.
    To sum up, it is necessary for us tocontrol the limit of skepticism rightly. Regard study as a way to increaseourselves and study feasibly rather than accepting it passively, we can achievethe best target of studying. By doing that, the falsetheory will decrease, on the contrast; the new ideas will promote our society.
