Artists, as constructors of beauty, are helpful to the lasting value in the development of humanity and society, to some extent. However, that people only give appraise to the artists and their artistic creations, ignoring the contributions from the critic is too absolute and narrow. The critic is also providing more function which should not be neglected, to measure the lasting value.

In the beginning, the critic is a factor and helper to boost the happening of lasting value. For example, in the early 18th century, many critics would prefer to analysis and comment on the artistic creation, which became a prevalent trend and phenomenon called literary salon. They were inclined to give their unique perspective to the artists' work verbally, from the artistic value, the structure the cultural background and aesthesis. However, little document had be left, even though some comments had been polished, they would be covered in the period of engendering amounts of artistic creations. Additionally, the critics' great contributions are more likely from the invisible model rather than the buildings, the paintings or the novels and something visible from the artists.

Furthermore, the artists and the critics always make hearty cooperation with each other to show the public the best result and works. It is for the special words to the painting or status, that the artist could realize the weakness or draw point, and subsequently to motivate more and more new and meaningful inspiration and creativity. Also, It is due to the critic' comment, that more worthy artistic creations would be discovered and accepted to the public and society. It seems like diamonds, if there is no person to select them from the ores, and to polish them, maybe the value of the diamond would be unknown and disappeared forever. If there is no praise to the painting from Van Gogh, who would know the great painting and the experience and who would enjoy the real world of being beautiful colorful and wonderful.

The critics are also a teacher and instructor to inculcate the common people to try to understand the real meaning from the work. Without the help of the critic, who could understand the collage from Picasso. Without the knowledge from the critic, people would miss the potential beauty and value from the strange but splendid constructions. The more words to a word the critics make, the more focus from individuals there is. And then more and more invisible and everlasting value will come true gradually.
