TOPIC: ARGUMENT188 - A new report suggests that men and women experience pain very differently from one another, and that doctors should consider these differences when prescribing pain medications. When researchers administered the same dosage of kappa opioids-a painkiller-to 28 men and 20 women who were having their wisdom teeth extracted, the women reported feeling much less pain than the men, and the easing of pain lasted considerably longer in women. This research suggests that kappa opioids should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is required, whereas men should be given other kinds of pain medication. In addition, researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women.

This argument is good at presenting but bad at logicality. And with several logical flaws I can not agree with it.
To begin with, this argument assert that men and women experience pain very differently by a new report. Only one kind of reports can not be sufficient evidence to illustrate that men and women with different pain. Perhaps this report itself is based on a insufficient research and methodology might be problematic in two respects: One is the different age: If the men in this report is
4-6-year-old-child, the women is 25-30-year-old-adult.
And the other is the different group: If the men group is all patint sufferred from grave disease for a long time, on the contrary, the women group came from usual and healthy human. Many factors different can influence the result. So it is presumptuous to judge the truth of this argument according to one unconscious report.

In addition, the research between man and woman using kappa opioids show the fact that kappa opioids has good effect on women and no effect on men. This reasoning itself present unconvicing flaws. There is no evidence to show using
other kind of pain medication that man with pain become better. Also there is no evidence to demonstrate that woman with pain use other kind of pain medication become worse than woman using kappa opioids. Maybe like what was described above, women wer

4-6-year-old-child, the women is 25-30-year-old-adult.
And the other is the different group: If the men group is all patient suffered from grave disease for a long time, on the contrary, the women group came from usual and healthy human. Many factors different can influence the result. So it is presumptuous to judge the truth of this argument according to one unconscious report.

In addition, the research between man and woman using kappa opioids show the fact that kappa opioids has good effect on women and no effect on men. This reasoning itself present unconvincing flaws. There is no evidence to show using
other kind of pain medication that man with pain become better. Also there is no evidence to demonstrate that woman with pain use other kind of pain medication become worse than woman using kappa opioids. Maybe like what was described above, women will be like men after using other kind of pain medication become much better than after using kappa opioids. Or maybe men with pain using other kind of pain become much worse than before. And even it is true that the women feel much less pain than the men after using kappa opioids-the doctors can not be suggested that they should consider using other painkiller on man. Because absent such evidence that whether they used the different treatment to those two groups of people. Maybe the question is on the method of using painkillers.

Final, this argument suggested that researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women. This result can not make me convinced. Because common sense tells us that merely one report and two reasons can not underline the accuracy of the conclusion. Maybe even reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women-the result paradoxically is the same. And man and woman may not be the crux in the medications, other factors are also important such as the dosage of using medicine and the analogy between same kind medicine.
In sum, to let this argument more believable the arguer should more data.
