在背事实之前,学生应该先学习有助于解释那些事实的想法、趋势和概念。孤立学习事实是学不到什么东西的。

不完全同意

当今社会是一个知识大爆炸的时代,有效的记忆是值得探讨的话题。
例如化学,对于记忆大量的反应,可以在了解原理的基础上记忆。但是对于一些物质的特性,例如硫酸铜为什么是蓝色,铁离子和亚铁离子为何会有两种颜色,一一学习背后的原理会是浪费时间的做法,

数学是具有代表性的理科科目,可是其中仍有需要大量记忆的即成事实,例如中国的乘法口诀,中国学生在算数上反映更快的原因。

学生高效的记忆不光体现在学科的不同,更体现在学生本身能力的不同。在低年级时。。。。。
高年级。。。。。

对于不同的目的,例如通过自己并不是很感兴趣历史考试,事实的记忆或许更有效,但是要写一篇历史论文,那就不得不深入分析更个方面。

综上,学生的记忆根据学科和自身能力的不同,可以呈现不同的先后顺序,而并不仅仅是一种模式


As the explosion of knowledge in modern society, effective memory has already turned to be a topic totally worth being discussed deeply. No matter what kinds of approaches should be choose, principles first or facts only, all the factors, such as the structures of knowledge, the students’ abilities, and the study effect be expected, should be taken into consideration.

First, the structures of knowledge decided the ways students should use, not only on the facets of subjects but also on the point of exact facts. For example, chemistry is a subject contains a mass of information, students who want to obtain it have to memorize hundreds of reaction equations and characters of many chemical elements, under the condition, if the students study the ideas, trends and concepts ahead, it will be easy for them to remember the reaction equations but the reverse effects may be achieved on understanding why the colors between iron ions and iron with a valency of two are different. Compare with knowing too much principles, just memorize it will be more easy.

No mention the arts subjects such history and literature which require students to memorize huge facts first, the pure science subject mathematics, for instance, also need to remember some facts ahead, the most useful facts for Chinese pupils maybe multiplication table, which helps students to calculate faster.

On the other hand, students’ abilities of memorizing, analyzing and experiences also affect the methods they can choose. An appropriate example is not very far to seek , students in low age are required to remember the facts without understanding them clearly, while the phenomenon change after they enter the high school, the systemic sciences which are required to comprehend the principle will appear at the stage.


With the different aims of study, the ways can be different. For example, students just want to pass the historical exam memorize the events may be enough, however, students who need to write historical papers have to pay more attention on investigating work.

In conclusion, the learning order between memorizing facts and studying principles is ambiguous. And it will be changed for the different structures of knowledge, the students’ abilities, and the study effect be expected. The absolute advantages of principle studying are unreasonable.
