Tradition and modernization are incompatible. One must choose between them.

提纲:
1.        看上去对立
2.        其实,大多数兼容,界线不明显
3.        共存,相互促进
4.        可选择两者

-------正文--------

Are tradition and modernization incompatible and thus one must choose between them? The speaker claims so, but I cannot fully agree. I concede that in some cases, tradition and modernization seem to be exclude each other. However, in my point of view, in most instances tradition and modernization can be coexist and even sometimes promote each other, and one can choose both of them.

Admittedly, in some cases tradition and modernization seem to be the (contrast things) opposite aspects. In contemporary society, (many or considerable?) quite a number of youths(要加s吗) dress or behave in a "modern" way. They wear strange clothes they consider nice and, which from traditional perspective they are ugly. They also have behaviors such as (assert) expressing love by the way of having sex before marriage--too open and incomprehensive (from) in the traditional way. The youth reject tradition during they "modernize" to some extent. In courses of many countries’ reforms, people had to struggle with the strength of traditions. These examples appear to reveal that tradition and modernization are contrary aspects, therefore one must choose one between them.

Nonetheless, through more scrunities, tradition and modernization are not so clearly defined. If tradition and modernization are put into the river of history, they are new and old comparatively(). Today one thing may be traditional, which was modern yesterday, and similarly, perhaps today's new thing will become old tomorrow. The boundary between the tradition and modernization are not absolute.

Moreover, modernization and tradition can coexist and benefit for each other sometimes. On the one hand, many modern things derive from the things in the past. As we know, the modern frequently repeats the past. Tang clothes existed in Tang (period) Dynasty of China, the traditional clothes for modern people. Yet nowadays, the style of Tang clothes becomes (modern) popular/pervails again in China. In this form, people add new elements into the traditional Tang clothes, while (contain) reserve base elements of their former pattern. Tang clothes are developed in the modernization. On the other hand, tradition can usually provide the base line in the course of modernization. With the development of the science and technology, a host of new things come out, with relative ethic problems emerging(随之而来?) at the same time. Tradition rules can sometimes provide the base line. For instance, the technology of cloning, a product of modernization, may be harmful to human beings for some people approve human cloning. The traditional ethic rules forbid people to act so. In a word, the modernization and tradition can be beneficial for one another.

Finally, one can choose both of tradition and modernization, rather than reject one of them. One can choose both reading--the traditional way to acquire knowledge and watching TV or going to the Internet--the modern way to acquire knowledge and information. Not only can people choose both the ways, but also should they, to some extent, choose both of them for acquiring more useful information and better comprehending and absorbing knowledge. If one rejects traditional reading, one will possibly have superficial comprehension of the knowledge. By contrary, if one gives up using the advanced methods like video, Internet, etc., one will probably lag the development of the society, and miss some great forelanding(前沿的?) discoveries or theories. To this aspect, one can even sometimes should choose both tradition and modernization.

In sum, tradition and modernization are not absolutely different(), though sometimes they seem to be incompatible. Modernization can contain the traditional elements and develop the tradition. And tradition can help modernization promote better.

In contemporary society, (many or considerable?) quite a number of youths(要加s吗)这里应该加 dress or behave in a "modern" way. They wear strange clothes they consider nice and,(and去掉吧?另外下面一句要么把which换成but,或者写成,which are ugly from traditional perspective,还有ugly有点怪怪的,用eccentric?) which from traditional perspective they are ugly. They also have behaviors such as (assert) expressing love by the way of having sex (是否能用隐讳点的表达?)before marriage--too open and incomprehensive (from) in the traditional way. The youth reject tradition during they "modernize" to some extent. In courses of many countries’ reforms, people had to struggle with the strength of traditions. These examples appear to reveal that tradition and modernization are contrary aspects, therefore one must choose one between them.(感觉这里例证不充分,不明白为什么one must choose to between them?比如,不sex,但是pda算是什么呢?还有,不可否认很多国家的reform过程中许多tradition被保留下来了,不如英国王室。)

Nonetheless, through more scrunities(???), tradition and modernization are not so clearly defined. If tradition and modernization are put into the river of history, they are new and old comparatively(加上respectively如何?). Today one thing may be traditional, which was modern yesterday, and similarly, perhaps today's new thing will become old tomorrow. The boundary between the tradition and modernization are not absolute. 这两句很不错!

Moreover, modernization and tradition can coexist and benefit for(from) each other sometimes. Tang clothes are developed in the modernization.(很好的例子:) On the other hand, tradition can usually provide the base line in the course of modernization. With the development of the science and technology, a host of new things come out, with relative ethic problems emerging(随之而来?) at the same time. Tradition rules can sometimes provide the base line. For instance, the technology of cloning, a product of modernization, may be harmful to human beings for some people approve human cloning.(这个因果句的前因后果有关系吗?) The traditional ethic rules forbid people to act so. In a word, the modernization and tradition can be beneficial for one another.(但是有点问题,这和个人的选择有啥关系?)
Finally, one can choose both of tradition and modernization, rather than reject one of them. One can choose both reading--the traditional way to acquire knowledge and watching TV or going to the Internet--the modern way to acquire(gain,替换词汇) knowledge and information. Not only can people choose both the(two) ways, but also should they, to some extent, choose both of them for acquiring more useful information and better comprehending and absorbing knowledge. If one rejects traditional reading, one will possibly have superficial comprehension of the knowledge. By contrary, if one gives up using the advanced methods like video, Internet, etc., one will probably lag the development of the society, and miss some great forelanding(前沿的?) discoveries or theories.(这个有点牵强) To this aspect(For this reason), one can even sometimes should(sometimes even should) choose both tradition and modernization.

In sum, tradition and modernization are not absolutely different(), though sometimes they seem to be incompatible. Modernization can contain the traditional elements and develop the tradition. And tradition can help modernization promote better.

感觉挺不错的,流畅,但是有些地方还是牵强。

我也写了一篇,感觉怪怪,有时间的话帮帮忙,谢谢啦!赵找逻辑的问题就好。
