Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is important to know events happening around the world, though sometimes they are unlikely to affect your daily life. Use specific reasons and examples to support your
answer.

Most people around the world are taking advantage of the opportunities, presented by modern technology,to acquir events happening around the world or learn about other cultures. In a sense people from different countries concern about each other and the world has become a smaller place. Nevertheless, some people hold the viewpoint that news happening in any region are none of our business, it is waste of time and energy to obtain them. But I strongly confirm that it is absolutely important to know events happening around the world as following reasons.

To begin with, a college students who wants to competent in a specific knowledge that he study in, not merely  tedious instillation of the textbook should be learned well, but even the lastest inventions, scientific skills and ecnomical problems are indispensable.  For instance, a student who study in economics read economical books all day but never acquire the financial news around the world, as a result he/she might think economics is a boring lesson.On the other hand, students who care about current economical affairs might return  their economical studies with renewed vigor.What was an abstract academic pursuit becomes a concrete and interesting goal with a real relationship to the students' life.

In addition, if I have to choose one factor which is supposed to be useful to success, I concern that the knowledge of lastest information is a essential one. As a bussinessman who don not know the need and provide of the market , the ups and downs of the expense in articles and collapse of stock market or economy crisis these years, how can he/she make a profit for company? A scholar who care little about new technology, how can he/she apply them to his/her research and discoverise new things without a hitch?Lending numerous examples as such, the knowledge of the lastest information is indispensable.

In general,as reasons presented above I highlight my viewpoint again that it is very important to know events happening round the world, though sometimes they are external unlikely affect our daily life .

可能是审题的角度不同吧，我对题目的理解是：这个是原本和你无关的，并不是事情本身和你无关的。举个例子，比如说你是学finance的普通学生，那么很多和你无关的事情你就需要了解，比如各个估计指数，尽管这些指数本身和你没有任何关系。
我觉得例子是：美国某个农村发生了大车祸，你可以不关心（里面没有你认识的人），但你可以了解一下集中的原因，以防悲剧在自己身上重演。
